Avernakø is located in the Southern Funen Archipelago. You can access the island with a ferry from Faaborg that takes both vehicles and passengers. The ferry trip takes about 30 minutes, but often it takes a trip around Lyø. A beautiful tour of 70 minutes around the Southern Funen Archipelago. The size of Avernakø is 6 km2 and there is possibility for shopping in the local grocery store. 120 people live on the island all year around and the main occupation is agriculture.
