This personal and aesthetic - very unique – holiday house is located on a huge undisturbed natural plot with a small wood, bonfire spot with a view of the entire garden and many cosy haunts in the garden. Only 850m from one of the area’s nature beaches.
Interior
The house is constructed on several levels with intriguing details. It is owned by an artist and decorated with art and a mixture of modern and antique furniture, providing a lovely atmosphere.
The house gives you the opportunity for cosy times together as well as the possibility to retreat alone, f. inst. with a good book indoor or outdoor. The kitchen is open-plan with the dining room and the lounge. In 2022 the Kitchen is replaced with a new Hanstholm Kitchen. From the kitchen door you step right on to a west-facing terrace, where you can enjoy the evening sun and a barbecue night with your family. The kitchen is spacious enough for everybody to help prepare the meal, and the dishwasher takes care of the dirty service. From the lounge there is also access to another terrace, facing east, where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning sun or you can lie down and sunbathe undisturbed until mid-afternoon. From here you can access the annex that sleeps two.
The lounge has streaming TV, radio and a CD-player with lots of CD’s to choose from. The house has its own iphone unit that you can stream from, when you want to listen to music, radio or watch TV. From the iphone you choose which app you want to stream from. In the house you find a guide for streaming. On the Smart-TV, HBO Nordic, Netflix and YouTube etc. have already been installed.
The bedroom with the wood burner has a double bed and functions as a combined bedroom and study where you can work and enjoy the view of the small wood and the garden. The panorama windows with two sliding doors provide loads of light and the opportunity to see the deer strutting on the natural plot. If you are lucky, they will come really close to the house. The bedroom also has a small pergola terrace where you can sit and enjoy the view of the garden. We recommend not using the wood burner in the summer months.
The second bedroom is a small room with a single bed and a wardrobe.
The third bedroom is in the annex and has two single beds with a chest of drawers, a dress rail and a shoe shelf. From the annex you step right out onto the southeast-facing terrace.
The bathroom has a shower and a washing machine. You can hang your laundry outside the front door where you find the clothes-dryer.
At the end of the garden there is a studio where the owner creates his art works. Here is a terrace that the guests may use in the evening sun.
Around the house there are flowers in pots, and in the cushion box you find the cushions for the outdoor sun chairs, chairs etc. The holiday house consists of several small huts and gives the feeling of a small village with paths around the house.
The garden
The garden is surrounded by tall trees without stealing the sun light. The driveway is big enough to take several cars. The garden has many cosy corners. You can sit on the hilltop and enjoy the view by the bonfire or have a cosy chat in the greenhouse, sheltered from the rain. It is okay with the owners to pick herbs from the garden for your meal, as long as you leave enough for the next guests who rent the house after you. In the herb garden you find thyme, oregano, rosemary, chives, dill, parsley, broad-leaved parsley, lovage, sage, potatoes, rhubarbs, blueberries and much more.
Please note that youth groups are not welcome, nor are animals.
Location / the area
The holiday house is located in an area with many opportunities to experience food, nature and activities for children. Try a walking tour in Geopark Odsherred or have a meal at “Det Vilde Køkken”. There are many beaches to visit along the coast and lovely bicycle routes to try. Or you can take a walk in the former limestone quarry in Klint, where you can enjoy the sunset over the sea or throw your fishing line into the water. Or what about a round on the golf course?
650m from the holiday house you find the friendly Spar grocery store with everything you want. So no need to go all the way to Nykøbing Sjælland for the daily shopping.
In Odsherred there are many artists. In the harbour area of Nykøbing Sjælland you can visit several artists who live and have their studios there, and on the pedestrian street you can experience the genuine holiday atmosphere. Here you also find the local theatre, fishmonger, cosy cafés and lots of shopping.
