Welcome inside

Do you dream of a holiday in a truly special summer house, where history and modern comfort blend beautifully together? This unique Friis and Moltke summer house has been carefully renovated with great respect for the original architecture – while at the same time embracing a creative and contemporary design approach.

From the moment you step inside, you feel the warm and cosy atmosphere. The open kitchen is naturally connected to the living room and dining area, creating the perfect setting for togetherness and quality time. Here, it is easy to enjoy long breakfasts or cosy evenings with board games and good food.

In the living room, you will find a handmade built-in sofa, inviting you to relax and also serving as two comfortable sleeping spaces – perfect for an extra guest or a cosy movie night with the children.

The summer house is ideal for families with children. Everything has been thoughtfully considered: a cot, high chair, play tower and sandbox make it easy to enjoy a child-friendly holiday. Indoors, there is also a practical movable safety gate, which can be placed around the wood-burning stove or the terrace door, ensuring peace of mind for both children and adults.

The two bedrooms are designed with comfort and flexibility in mind – one with a lovely double bed and the other with four bunk beds (4x75x190), which quickly become the children’s favourite space. The bathroom is bright and welcoming, and the entrance offers plenty of space for shoes and outerwear.

Enjoy life outside

The grounds surrounding the summer house are a little paradise where holiday life can truly unfold. A beautiful terrace area wraps around the house, creating perfect settings for relaxation and outdoor living – whether the day starts with morning coffee in the sun or ends with long, warm summer evenings.

For children, there is plenty of space for play and adventure with their own playground, where imagination can run free. Meanwhile, adults can relax in the hammock under the shade of the trees and enjoy the calm, the nature, and the special holiday atmosphere.

As the day comes to an end, everyone naturally gathers around the fire pit for toasted bread, laughter, and stories under the open sky. And with the beach less than 500 metres away, it is easy to take spontaneous trips to the water – perhaps for a refreshing morning swim or an evening walk along the coast, where the sky turns soft and colourful.

Recommendations from Holiday home owner

Welcome to our little gem at Spovevej 66.

We are a small family with a son who will soon be 3 years old, and we fell in love with this summer house when we bought it in 2022. It was especially the functionalist architecture, for which the renowned Aarhus architects Friis & Moltke are known, that captivated us—combined with the wild natural grounds that invite relaxation, play, and togetherness.

The house has been carefully renovated with respect for the original details, while being furnished to suit modern family life. There’s room here for small families, couples, and friends who want to unplug and enjoy the peace and quiet.

On warm days, you can open the large sliding door and let the indoors and outdoors blend together. On cooler days, we love spending time on the large corner sofa or around the dining table, where the view of the tall trees surrounding the property and the abundant wildlife creates a very special atmosphere.

Just a short walk from the house, you’ll find the beach, which is especially kid-friendly with shallow water extending far out.

Every Tuesday at 4:00 PM in July, there’s Sommer By in St. Sjørup with a flea market, a bouncy castle, and a hobby horse track for the little ones—and the day often wraps up with live music.

We hope you will enjoy the house and the area just as much as we do—and find peace, togetherness, and wonderful experiences in the beautiful surroundings.
