Welcome inside

To this creative, homely, and slightly older holiday home, where everything is not perfectly lined up. There is plenty of space for cosiness and play, and both children, adults, and dogs will quickly feel at home. You are welcomed by a cosy living room that invites togetherness. The wood-burning stove is perfect for chilly evenings when card games and good conversations take over. The living room is connected to the dining area and the open kitchen, so you can enjoy each other’s company while holiday meals are being prepared. While the food simmers in the kitchen, you gather around the dining table for cosy moments, games, chats, and laughter.

The house offers three bedrooms. Upstairs, with sloping ceilings, you will find two bedrooms – one with a double bed and one with two single beds. On the ground floor, there is a third bedroom with bunk beds that children will love, as well as a small bathroom.

In the annex, there is an additional bedroom with a double bed, an extra bathroom, and a sauna. This is also where you will find the washing machine and tumble dryer. At the front of the annex, there is an activity room with a pool table, table tennis, and table football, offering plenty of entertainment if the weather turns less pleasant. The annex is best suited for summer use.

Enjoy life outside

The grounds are natural and made for outdoor living. With its secluded location and many small cosy corners furnished with older garden furniture, you will find both peace and space to enjoy yourselves.

Children can play freely on the slide, build secret hideouts, or make traditional Danish “snobrød” over the fire pit. There are also several terraces where you can enjoy life, read a good book, or gather for barbecue dinners.

And just 450 metres away, you will find a child-friendly sandy beach. So pack a picnic basket, take your towel under your arm, and enjoy days by the water with sand between your toes and the gentle sound of the waves in the background.

Get up close to the local attractions

The beach at St. Sjørup is one of Djursland’s most unique bathing areas. Close to the coast, the seabed is more fjord-like, but as you wade through the shallow water, you’ll reach the sandbanks where the open sea stretches as far as the eye can see. The walk to the sandbanks is an adventure in itself – families often bring prams, carts, or other wheels that can handle the shallow water. The beach resembles a tidal flat with clear differences between high and low tide, small tidal streams, and saltwater pools.

About 10 km from the house lies the small ferry village of Udbyhøj with a marina and good fishing opportunities. From here, a cable ferry crosses to the Randers side – and once there, you’ll find a lovely white sandy beach with a Blue Flag and some of Denmark’s cleanest bathing water. For nature experiences, the nearby Fjord Centre is highly recommended. The area also offers many great attractions, such as Gl. Estrup Manor, the ancient stone graves at Tustrup, and Northern Europe’s largest amusement park, Djurs Sommerland, which is less than a 30-minute drive from the house. There’s no shortage of things to see and do all across Djursland.
