A little slice of all worlds in Kalmar County

Astrid Lindgren's second book was called Pippi Longstocking and appeared back in 1945.

Ever since, Pippilotta Provisionia Gaberdina Dandeliona Ephraimsdaughter Longstocking has been a symbol for upstart young girls in countries throughout the world, and along with all the other characters from Astrid Lindgren's stories, she now haunts the amusement park in Vimmerby. Meet policemen Kling and Klang, the neighbourhood children Tommy and Annika, the monkey Mr. Nilsson, Pippi's horse and Prussiluskan (Mrs. Prysselius) who actually first appeared in the television series in 1969.

The park is called Astrid Lindgren's World and is also home to characters from the Brothers Lionheart, Emil of Lönneberg and Ronja, the Robber's Daughter.
