Situated on the border between the provinces of Småland and Östergötland, around 60 km north-east of Jönköping and 5 km as the crow flies from Tranås, this beautiful, modern holiday home enjoys a secluded, private setting with its own jetty and swimming platform on a headland in the large Lake Sommen, which offers excellent fishing. The nearest shops are in the village of Sommen, about 12 km away; su­per­mar­kets, a cash machine and a post office can be found in Boxholm, about 15 km away, and in Tranås, about 25 km away.

Fa­ci­li­ties
This modern holiday home, situated on its own on a small bay on a lakeside plot of around 2,000 m², has a living area of ap­proxi­ma­te­ly 115 m². From the entrance hall in the centre of the house, you enter an at­tra­cti­ve, spacious living and kitchen area on the right-hand side, featuring a seating area, a wood-burning stove and a large dining table, offering a mag­ni­fi­cent view of the lake. The kitchen itself is equipped with a fridge-freezer, an electric hob with oven, extractor fan, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and dis­hwas­her. Adjacent to this ‘heart’ of the house is a bedroom furnished with a double bed, as well as a bathroom with a shower, toilet and un­der­floor heating. There is also a utility room with a washing machine. In the other half of the house, there is a cosy TV room (with satellite TV featuring German channels) and two bedrooms off this room, one furnished with two beds and the other with a single bed. A second bathroom with a toilet and shower is ac­ces­sib­le from the entrance hall. The small guest house by the lake contains a guest room furnished with a double sofa bed (without heating) and a wood-fired sauna. Guests also have access to outdoor furniture and a barbecue, as well as a rowing boat with an electric motor. A cot and a high chair can be provided on request.

Special in­for­ma­tion
Bookings can only be made for full weeks, with arrival on Saturdays. Pets and smoking are not permitted. Bed linen and towels can be hired on request for 150 SEK per person per change. A deposit of 200 EUR is required, which will be refunded upon departure provided there are no issues. Electri­ci­ty is billed on site by the homeowner in Swedish kronor. Guests who do not wish to carry out the final cleaning them­sel­ves will be charged 2,500 SEK. Firewood for the fireplace and sauna can be purchased for 150 SEK per basket. Two kayaks and/or a petrol engine for the rowing boat can each be booked for 1,500 SEK per week, but must be hired for the entire duration of the stay. Petrol is not included in the price and must be topped up before departure. Services can only be booked at the time of booking the house; they cannot be added later. The maximum occupancy of the house, including infants, is limited by the landlord to five people. To fish in Lake Sommen, you will need a fishing permit (Fiskekort), which can be purchased for around 500 SEK per week at the Q8 petrol station in Boxholm. The Romanäs nature reserve, situated on the western shore of Lake Sommen, just outside Tranås, is only about 500 metres from the house and easily ac­ces­sib­le by boat.
