Charming holiday home with lovely garden in the heart of Liseleje
House-ID: 1637Stay right in the heart of Liseleje, just a short walk from the beach, local shops, and the buzz of town life. This holiday home on Lærkevængevej combines peaceful holiday vibes with a central location – allowing you to soak up the relaxed atmosphere of Liseleje while staying close to everything.
Welcome inside
The first thing you'll notice when you step inside is the light. Large windows let the sun pour in, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere in the open living area, which flows naturally into the well-equipped kitchen. There’s plenty of space to gather – whether cooking, playing games, or chatting over a glass of wine. A wood-burning stove adds warmth on cooler evenings and invites you to enjoy that classic Danish hygge with cosy blankets and hot drinks.
As the day winds down, it’s easy to retreat to one of the three bedrooms – two with double beds and one with twin beds – all with views to the lush garden, providing calm and fresh air for a restful night's sleep.
Enjoy life outside
Step outside into a lush, private garden where the sound of birdsong mingles with the gentle crackle of the firepit. This is the place to slow down and just be – with your morning coffee under the parasol on the terrace, a peaceful nap in the hammock between the trees, or evening barbecues as the sun sets. The spacious wooden deck is a natural gathering spot, perfect for alfresco meals and long summer nights by the grill. When darkness falls and the glow from the fire lights up the garden, it's impossible not to feel the holiday mood take over.
Get up close to the local attractions
With just 460 metres to Liseleje Beach and 340 metres to the local grocery shop, you can easily leave the car behind and explore on foot. Take a morning stroll to the sea with your towel over your shoulder, or pick up freshly baked rolls for breakfast. Liseleje offers charming boutiques, ice cream stands and cafés where you can soak up the relaxed holiday vibe with locals and visitors alike.
Take a detour to scenic Hyllingebjerg and watch the sunset paint the Kattegat in gold, or hop on a bike and explore Tisvilde Hegn – one of Denmark’s oldest forests, full of trails, dunes and the scent of carefree summers. In Liseleje, you have everything nearby – beach, woods, town, and tranquillity. All right outside your door.

Recommendations from Holiday home owner
Beach: You can walk to the beach in 5-10 minutes: The house opposite has a large trampoline in the front yard. Next to it runs a path. Follow the path (it cuts across a few roads). When you reach the end of the path, turn left onto the coastal road – and shortly after turn right onto a new path that goes directly down to the beach.
Restaurants: "Mamas & Tapas" on the square in Liseleje is quite nice. Restaurant "Knud" at the harbor in Hundested is also recommended.
Groceries: The grocer on the square is open every day and is highly recommended. There is also a good bakery in town, which is open every day. In Asserbo, there is a smaller supermarket "365discount," which is open later in the evening than the grocer in Liseleje.
Fishmongers: There are fine fishmongers at the marina in Frederiksværk and at the harbor in Hundested.
Walks: There are countless good walks in the area. The forest and heath east of Liseleje are lovely – even in winter. The forest starts right after the bakery on the way out of town. If you walk through the forest, you come to Zealand's largest (and strictly speaking: only) heath, Melby Overdrev. To the west, you can take a brisk walk to Hyllingebjerg, which is a beautiful viewpoint. To the east, you can walk all the way along the beach to Tisvilde (about 10 km).
Running routes: There are running routes marked in the forest at 1.5 km, 3 km, 5 km, 8 km, and 10 km. The routes start in Asserbo, at Nyvej, the parking lot at Melby Overdrev. It is 2.5 km from the summer house to the starting point.
Cycling route: The North Coast Route goes through Liseleje. Follow the signs for cycle route 47. If you go west, you can reach Hundested. The other way, the cycle route goes through the forest to Tisvildeleje – and further towards Helsingør.
Eco-village: Denmark's oldest eco-village "Dyssekilde" is located in the village of Torup (4-5 km from here). There is a good cafe/restaurant. There is also a shop with good eco-products. Every other Saturday there is a market at the station. There are other activities in Torup – see the calendar at www.torupting.dk
Bus and train: On Lindebjergvej, there are stops for bus route 327. One way, the bus goes to Frederiksværk, where there is a station and shops, etc. From the other side of the road, the bus goes to Melby station. You can take the train to, for example, Dyssekilde or Hundested, where there are also shopping opportunities. Copenhagen can be reached with a change at Favrholm or Hillerød station. Timetables can be checked at www.rejseplanen.dk – where there is also an English version.
Attractions: At www.visitnorthzealand.com there is information about the region's attractions. It is worth visiting Kronborg in Helsingør or Louisiana in Humlebæk. The labyrinth in Gilleleje is a fun place for children.
