Get up close to local experiences

Discover the charming surroundings of Isefjorden. Take a walk along Kulhuse Beach, watch the birds or cast a line into the calm waters of the fjord. The children can look forward to having fun on the beach, whilst you enjoy the peace and quiet.

In the area around Kulhuse, you can follow the Fjordlandsstien trail and go for a cycle ride through the countryside or along the fjord, and pop into the nearest towns: Skibby, Frederikssund and Jægerspris. Take a trip to Kulhuse and splash about in the waves at Kulhuse sandy beach. You can also take the Columbus ferry from Kulhuse to Sølager and explore Arresø, Denmark’s largest lake. There are cycling and walking routes around the lake, or you can head to Hundested, where there’s a wide selection of restaurants and shops.

Get a taste of the local area by stopping off at the many farm shops and specialist shops found in North Zealand. Several restaurants also focus on local and organic produce. You’ll easily find plenty of delicacies to take back to your holiday home.

From Kulhuse, you can quickly reach Jægerspris and Jægerspris Castle. In Nordskoven near Jægerspris stand Denmark’s three oldest oak trees: Storkeegen, Snoegen and Kongeegen. Only Kongeegen remains, and it is estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. This makes it the oldest oak tree in Northern Europe.
