Outdoor living thrives on the large lawn and sunny terrace, where holiday days blend together with morning coffee, barbecue dinners, and re­laxa­tion under the open sky. Children can spend hours playing in the play tower with swings, slide, and sandbox, while the more playful members of the family can gather for rounders and garden games on the spacious lawn. The rest of the family can relax in the lounge furniture with a good book or simply enjoy the sun and the calm holiday at­mosp­he­re.

Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions

Gjerrild Strand is a beautiful holiday desti­na­tion in northern Djursland, espe­ci­al­ly known for its wide and child-friendly sandy beach. Days here can easily be spent swimming, fishing along the coast, or searching for oysters by the water’s edge. The area is sur­ro­un­ded by beautiful deciduous forests, perfect for running, hiking, and cycling all year round, and along much of the northern coastline you’ll find scenic trails with fresh sea air. Here, exercise during your holiday feels more like pure enjoyment than effort.

During the summer season, you can pick up fresh bread and ice cream at the campsite just a few hundred metres from the holiday home. On your way through Gjerrild, you’ll ex­pe­ri­en­ce the charming village at­mosp­he­re with its church, local grocery store, and cosy inn serving classic Danish dishes. Just behind the inn lies Sostrup Castle, a historic site well worth a visit.

Djursland also offers plenty of ex­pe­ri­en­ces for the whole family. In Grenaa, you can visit Kat­te­gat­cen­tret and get up close to sharks, seals, penguins, and fa­sci­nat­ing marine life. If you prefer culture and history, Museum Østjylland is a charming stop in a historic 18th-century merchant’s house. From Grenaa, you can also take the ferry to both Sweden and Anholt.

Children and the young at heart will love a day at Djurs Som­mer­land, while others may prefer a visit to the charming market town of Ebeltoft with its cobbled streets and maritime ex­pe­ri­en­ces at Fregatten Jylland. Nature lovers should not miss a trip to Mols Bjerge or a visit to the wild animals at Ree Park Safari. Djursland is full of ex­pe­ri­en­ces for both young and old – in every season.
