The kitchen, dining area, and living room are combined into one large, open space, which naturally becomes the heart of the holiday home. The well-equipped kitchen invites both holiday cooking and relaxed mornings with coffee from the carafe. The dining area offers plenty of space around the table for long meals and good con­ver­sa­tions. In the living room, you can sink into the com­fortab­le leather furniture, light the wood-burning stove on cooler evenings, put a record on the gramop­ho­ne, or gather around the TV after a day full of ex­pe­ri­en­ces.

The holiday home has a thought­ful layout that provides both to­get­her­ness and privacy. At one end of the house, you will find three bedrooms – two with double beds and one with a bunk bed – along with a lovely bathroom equipped with both a washing machine and dryer. At the other end, there is another bedroom with two single beds and an ad­di­tio­nal charming bathroom. The last two sleeping places are in a cozy alcove, perfect as a children’s hideaway but equally inviting for a peaceful afternoon nap.

Enjoy life outside

Outside, a large, flat, and fenced plot of ap­proxi­ma­te­ly 1,200 m² awaits, where the lush greenery creates a won­der­ful­ly private setting for your holiday. There is plenty of space for play, re­laxa­tion, and long summer days under the open sky in the sun loungers. The holiday home also features a carport and a practical fish-cleaning table – perfect if today’s catch is going straight to dinner. After just a short walk of around 450 meters, you reach Gjerrild Nord­s­trand, where the family-friendly beach and a re­fres­hing dip await. Back in the garden, you can gather around the fire pit, fire up the gas grill, and enjoy the evening while truly soaking in the holiday calm.

Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions

On the way to the house, you pass the beautiful Sostrup Castle and drive through im­pres­si­ve deciduous forest that changes color beau­ti­ful­ly with the seasons before reaching the charming village of Gjerrild, where you will find a church, an inn, and a local shop – a truly charming stop along the way.

Gjerrild Nord­s­trand is a popular and family-friendly holiday area. The beach offers fine, child-friendly sand with Blue Flag status, lovely dunes, and plenty of space for play, swimming, and relaxed days by the sea. Gjerrild Klint is known as one of Denmark’s most at­tra­cti­ve spots for birdwat­chers and nature lovers, and a trip there is even more de­light­ful if you bring a picnic.

The area offers many excellent walking and cycling trails, including the North Sea Trail (Nordsøstien), which stretches from Udbyhøj by Randers Fjord to Grenå and allows for wonderful excur­sions through the beautiful coastal landscape. About 20 minutes’ drive away is the charming town of Grenå, the largest town on Djursland. Here, you will find pe­de­stri­an streets, small shops, and at­mosp­he­ric cafés and re­stau­rants. You can also visit Museum Østjylland or the Kattegat Centre, where both children and adults can get up close to sharks, penguins, and seals.

From Grenå Harbour, there is a ferry con­nection to Varberg in Sweden, and for those traveling with children or the young at heart, a visit to Djurs Som­mer­land – Northern Europe’s largest amusement park – is highly recom­men­ded. The park is about a half-hour drive from the holiday home and is known for in­tro­ducing new and exciting at­tra­ctions every year.
