Ju­els­min­de is a cosy seaport with an in­cre­di­bly long coastline. In fact, Ju­els­min­de has five ki­lo­metres of sandy beach. Here you can bask in the sun or leap into the blue waves.

North of Ju­els­min­de you will find the old station town of Odder. In and around the station town you will find child-friendly beaches and an active city life, and it is only a short distance to Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus.

Ajstrup Strand

Just 15 km south of Aarhus you will find Ajstrup Strand, a natural holiday area near water and natural surroundings. The fine sandy beach in the area is a haven for holidaymakers and locals every summer. Here you will find fine sand, clear water and safe swimming. For these reasons, the beach has been awarded Blue Flag-certification, which proudly sways in the wind. Close to the area is Norsminde Havn, an extremely charming marina where you can stroll along the pier, enjoy the sight of small fishing boats and visit one of the many cosy eateries. You can get from Ajstrup Strand to Odder in under 20 minutes by car.

Amstrup

Amstrup and Sondrup are two holiday home areas in East Jutland with views of Horsens Fjord. Here you will find natural surroundings with stunning landscapes and areas with rolling hills and forests. For example, explore Uldrup Bakker, where several winding trails in the hilly landscape guide your way. From both holiday home areas you are a short distance from Sondrup Strand, a small oasis by Horsens Fjord. The beach has a jetty from which you can go for a dip in the lovely water. You will find that the beach is somewhat hidden, so you can enjoy life completely undisturbed, without all the crowds and noise.

Mariendal Strand

South of Aarhus you will find the holiday home area, Mariendal Strand. Near the area is the beach, which is surrounded by natural surroundings and has a cosy fire pit. Here you can enjoy views of Aarhus Bay while roasting marshmallows over an open fire with your feet planted in the fine sand. If you like biking, you can cycle towards Aarhus to the forests of Moesgaard and Marselisborg, which stretch all the way down to the coast. And when visiting this area, you might want to visit the Moesgaard Museum, which has several exhibitions of archaeological finds, including the Grauballe Man, who - probably - is the world’s most well-preserved bog body.

Norsminde

You are always guaranteed fresh sea air when you spend your holiday in Norsminde. The small fishing village is close to Norsminde Fjord and the marina, hence you have idyllic coastal life up close. Especially during the summer the harbour is bustling with life! Here you can buy fresh fish, try out various local delicacies and enjoy musical entertainment right in the middle of the pier. Around Norsminde you will find several natural areas with established paths and trails that you can explore on foot or by bike. In these surroundings, you can enjoy a quiet moment overlooking the water.

Saksild Strand

Saksild Strand is a popular holiday home area just outside the town of Saksild. The area is particularly well-known for its beautiful beach of the same name. Indeed, the beach is actually referred to as one of East Jutland’s best beaches. Here there is white sand and calm waters without large waves and undercurrents. And of course, the beach has also been awarded Blue Flag-certification for such fine swimming conditions. In and around the holiday home area you will find several good eateries and a nearby ice cream house known for its great ice cream. From Saksild Strand you have a 20-minute drive to Aarhus, while you can get to Odder in 10 minutes.

Tunø

Off the east coast of Jutland you will find the islands of Tunø, Endelave and Hjarnø. Tunø and Endelave are known for their scenic surroundings with hiking trails that guide you through varied terrain with dense forests, open landscapes and coastlines as far as the eye can see. Here you can explore the local plant and wildlife. Hjarnø is closer to the mainland and is a testament to the Viking Age, when the island was once home to the old Nordic seafarers. On these islands, you can experience a true island vibe with lovely beaches, sea views from all sides and - not least - a welcoming community.
