Holiday home on an old farm with motorboat, canoe and hot tub

In pi­c­tu­resque Västergötland, near the border with Småland, there is a former farm on a 120,000 m² plot of land, whose owners rent out this holiday home in addition to another one. Pigahuset - which trans­la­tes as ‘maid's house’. The other holiday home is a little further away and is called ‘Dränghuset’, which means ‘'farm servant's house’, as known from Astrid Lind­gren's stories. A small river flows right past the property and is suitable for short swims and fishing. The owners have fishing rights on the three lakes Stora Hagasjön, Lillan and Drägvedsjön, so you can fish there free of charge and without a fishing licence. Rowing boats and canoes are included. For the rowing boat, you can rent a 4 hp engine for EUR 50 per week. The nearest public and child-friendly bathing spot at Skäremoskön is about 3 km away. The two nearest larger towns, Tranemo and Gislaved, are about 25 km away, where you will find grocery stores, among other things. There is a nice re­stau­rant and café at Påarps Gård, 7 km away.

Fa­ci­li­ties

The 45 m² house com­fortably ac­com­moda­tes up to 4 people. Two dogs are also welcome for an ad­di­tio­nal charge of EUR 25 each. You enter the house through an entrance area, from which you can also access the bathroom with toilet and shower cubicle. Behind it is the living area with an open-plan kitchen and a dining table. The living area offers an excellent sense of space thanks to its gabled ceilings. Relax on the large corner sofa in front of the flat-screen TV with German channels or the crackling wood-burning stove, which envelops the living room in cosy warmth. Al­ter­na­ti­ve­ly, an energy-saving air-to-air heat pump with cooling function is also available. In addition to a large re­fri­ge­ra­tor with separate freezer com­part­ment, oven, stove, filter coffee machine and kettle, the kitchen offers suf­fi­ci­ent equipment for preparing and serving meals for 4 holiday guests.

Two of the four sleeping places are in the bedroom with a double bed, which you enter from the living room behind the dining area. The other two sleeping places are in the cosy sleeping loft with two single beds, which is ac­ces­sib­le via a ladder. The beds can also be pushed together to form a double bed if required.

Outside, there is a barbecue hut just 20 metres away and a wood-fired hot tub, also just 20 metres away, for wonderful evenings in good company. These are available to tenants of both holiday homes on the farm, which is why it may be necessary to agree on their use from time to time.

Internet in the house is provided via a mobile router. Therefore, the con­nection is not suitable for high data transfers.

Rowing boats and canoes are included. For the rowing boat, you can rent a 4 hp engine for EUR 50 per week.

The ho­meow­ners offer to transport a canoe to your desired lake for EUR 20. For example, a canoe trip on Lake Fegen is recom­men­ded.

The ho­meow­ners live only about 150 metres away and are happy to help with any problems.
