Holiday home Pigahuset - on an old farm with motorboat, canoe and hot tub

In the pi­c­tu­resque region of Västergötland, close to the border with Småland, you will find a former farmstead on a 120,000 m² property, where the owners rent out this holiday home together with one other cottage. Pigahuset literally means "The Maid's House." The second holiday home, located a little further away, is called Dränghuset, meaning "The Farm­hand's House," much like the cha­ra­cters known from Astrid Lind­gren's stories. A small river flows directly past the property and is suitable for a re­fres­hing dip or a bit of fishing. The nearest public, child-friendly swimming area at Lake Skäremosjön is ap­proxi­ma­te­ly 3 km away. The nearest larger towns, Tranemo and Gislaved, are both about 25 km away and offer su­per­mar­kets and other shopping fa­ci­li­ties. A lovely re­stau­rant and café can be found at Påarps Gård, ap­proxi­ma­te­ly 7 km from the house.

Interior
With 45 m² of living space, the house com­fortably ac­com­moda­tes up to 4 guests. You enter through a small entrance hall, which also leads to the bathroom with WC and shower cabin. Beyond this is the open-plan living area with an in­te­gra­ted kitchen and dining table. The living room feels espe­ci­al­ly spacious thanks to its high vaulted ceiling. Relax on the large corner sofa while watching German TV channels on the flat-screen TV or enjoy the cosy warmth of the wood-burning stove. Al­ter­na­ti­ve­ly, an energy-efficient air-source heat pump with cooling function is available. The kitchen is well equipped with a large re­fri­ge­ra­tor with separate freezer com­part­ment, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, electric kettle, and eve­ryt­hing you need to prepare and serve meals. The bedroom with a double bed is located behind the dining area. The remaining two sleeping places are in the cosy sleeping loft, which is accessed by a ladder and features two single beds that can be pushed together to form a double bed if desired.
Outside, just 20 m from the house, you will find a barbecue hut and, equally close, a wood-fired hot tub—perfect for relaxing evenings together. Both fa­ci­li­ties are shared with guests staying in the second holiday home on the farm, so oc­ca­sio­nal co­or­di­na­tion may be necessary.

Special In­for­ma­tion
Arrival is on Saturdays during the high season; outside the high season, arrival is flexible. Up to two dogs are welcome for an ad­di­tio­nal fee. Smoking is not permitted. Final cleaning is included in the rental price. Bed linen and towels can be rented for EUR 10 per person. Electri­ci­ty is charged according to consump­tion. Firewood costs EUR 6 per basket. Internet access is provided via a mobile router, so the con­nection is not suitable for large data transfers.
Rowing boats and canoes are included. A 4 HP outboard motor for the rowing boat can be rented for EUR 50 per week. The owners hold the fishing rights for the lakes Stora Hagasjön, Lillan, and Drägvedsjön, allowing you to fish there free of charge without a fishing licence. For EUR 20, the owners will transport a canoe to the lake of your choice. A canoe trip on Lake Fegen is espe­ci­al­ly recom­men­ded.
All ad­di­tio­nal services must be paid in cash on site.
The owners live only about 150 m away and are happy to assist if any problems arise during your stay.
