The garden invites you to enjoy long summer evenings under the open sky, where you can light the grill and let the conversations flow as the evening slowly settles in. A shelter in the garden also offers a special way to experience outdoor living and enjoy the fresh air close to nature. Here you can let the day end at a gentle pace and soak in the unique atmosphere that characterises the long, bright summer evenings on Samsø.

Get up close to the local attractions
Nordby is known as one of Samsø’s most atmospheric villages, with small winding streets, old half-timbered houses, and a lively local community. Here you can stroll through the village, browse small shops, or sit down at a café and enjoy the relaxed island atmosphere. Just outside the village, Nordby Bakker awaits with its beautiful rolling landscape, perfect for walks with views of both fields and the sea. If you continue north, you will reach Issehoved, where the sea and horizon open up into an impressive panorama. On Samsø, distances are short, making it easy to explore the island’s many beaches, charming harbours, and local specialties. Here you have every opportunity to fill your holiday with both memorable experiences and peaceful moments.

Recommendations from Holiday home owner

We love the combination of living right in the heart of Nordby while still having a relatively private garden. During the summer, we enjoy the lively atmosphere and charm of the village, yet we can always retreat and relax in our own peaceful surroundings. It's also just a short distance to both the beautiful countryside and the beach, where we often go for a swim or take a walk along the shoreline. And whenever we feel like treating ourselves, there's a local grocery store with delicious specialties, several restaurants, pizza, and great ice cream almost right on our doorstep.

The open-plan kitchen and living area is without a doubt the room where we spend most of our time indoors. It's where we play games, work on creative projects, and prepare meals, all while staying together and keeping up with what the rest of the family is doing.

When we head out, it's often to the beach or for a stroll through Nordby's charming streets. If we venture a little farther, we love visiting Ballebjerg or the Nordby Hills, where we enjoy the unique landscape and the area's distinctive rolling hills.

In the summer, much of our time is spent in the garden. We can enjoy the sunshine for most of the day and well into the evening. We play football, jump on the trampoline, compete in traditional Viking lawn games (Kubb), and cook over the fire pit. And there's one thing that's almost a daily tradition: we make sure to swim in the sea at least once every day.
