Discover local experiences
Nordby has been named one of Europe’s best-preserved villages – and with good reason. Stroll through its charming streets with thatched houses, hollyhocks, and the picturesque village pond at the center.

Nordby is the last stop before entering the beautiful Nordby Hills. Here you should visit Issehoved – Samsø’s answer to Grenen – where the waters of the Kattegat meet at the island’s northernmost point. Ballebjerg is also worth a visit with its impressive views, perhaps the very best spot on the island to enjoy the sunset. Northern Samsø invites you to go on many great hikes through the gently rolling landscape.
Heading south, you’ll find more lively and cozy villages. Tranebjerg is the island’s largest town, offering good shopping, specialty stores, and the local museum. You’ll also find the tourist information office here – perfect for more inspiration for your holiday.
Samsø boasts many beautiful beaches. One of the best is in Ballen, where in summer you’ll find a lively atmosphere, restaurants, live music, and cheerful holiday guests.
Just 1.2 km from the house you’ll also find a lovely sandy beach at Mårup Østerstrand. On Samsø, you’re always close to nature – and from the house near Nordby you can easily take a refreshing swim in the clear water.
