Holiday home JON806, Eksjö, for 4 people and 2 pet(s)
House-ID: JON806Location
This beautiful red wooden house from 1909 could have come straight out of an Astrid Lindgren story. It is situated in a secluded location south of Mariannelund in Småland, surrounded by nature, fields and forest on a 1,017 m² natural plot. With a bit of luck, you might even see a moose. The town of Vimmerby, with its Astrid Lindgren's World theme park and the author's childhood home, is only about 30 minutes away. There is a public, child-friendly bathing spot at Lake Bellen, about 8 km away, where you will also find the rowing boat included in the rental price. An electric motor can be rented for €50 per week. There is also a canoe, which is located 5.5 km away at Lake Enegrenen. The farm of the German-speaking owners is about 1 km away. Depending on the season, they sell eggs, freshly baked bread and various vegetables. The owners will even deliver a breakfast basket with fresh bread rolls, sausage, cheese, homemade jam, honey, Nutella, eggs, orange juice and homemade yoghurt (€12.50 per person, free for small children) upon request.
Shopping facilities are available in the towns of Mariannelund and Hjältevad, both about 15 km away.
Other worthwhile destinations include:
The "Filmbyn Småland" museum (17 km)
The original filming location of "That boy Emil", Gibberyds Gård (27 km)
Rail biking near Virserum (30 mins)
Målilla Älgpark moose park (30 mins)

Interior
With 75 m² of floor space, the house can accommodate 4 adults and, on request, a small child up to 2 years of age. Two pets are also welcome. You enter the house via the veranda, which is decorated with beautiful wooden ornaments and furnished with garden furniture, and find yourself in an entrance area. To the left of this is the first of the two bedrooms with two single beds. To the right of the entrance area is the spacious living room with a large dining table and two comfortable sofas, where you can relax in front of the smart TV or the crackling fireplace. To the left of the fireplace, you continue into the cosy kitchen, which even has a historic oven. Today, of course, in addition to a modern oven, stove, refrigerator, freezer, tabletop dishwasher, coffee machine and kettle, you have everything you need to prepare and serve common dishes for 4 people. Another door leads from the kitchen out into the garden. A few steps take you to the wooden terrace with a table, chairs and barbecue, where you can enjoy your meals or relax at the end of the day when the weather is nice.
The kitchen is followed by the bathroom with toilet, shower and washing machine on the left. Opposite the bathroom, a staircase leads to the upper floor, where the second bedroom is located, furnished with a double bed. A cot and a high chair are also available.
You can enjoy the long summer days in the garden on the terrace in the hammock, on comfortable deck chairs and by the fire pit. A special, typically Scandinavian wellness feature is the wood-fired hot tub, which can be rented for €120 per week.
You are welcome to charge your electric car at the house's own wall box (11 kW).
