The living room offers direct access to the house’s lovely terrace.
Enjoy life outdoors.
Enjoy the large terraces – there’s one on each side of the house, so you can soak up the sun at any time of day. Settle down on the wooden terrace with a glass of wine and a good book in hand, and take in the view across Roskilde Fjord. As the day draws to a close, fire up the barbecue and enjoy a lovely meal whilst savouring the tranquillity and admiring the stunning sunsets. The garden offers plenty of space for play and games, as well as a patch of grass left wild on purpose to provide a home for birds and insects. Alternatively, sit by the fire pit, relax to the crackling of the fire and enjoy the evening as it draws in.
Enjoy the surroundings
Tørslev Hage is a charming holiday home area where you can go for lovely walks along the footpaths and under Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge (a beautiful sight). Here you can enjoy nature, go for a swim in the fjord and spend time with family and friends.
In the area around Tørslev Hage, you can follow the Fjordlandsstien trail and go for a cycle ride through the countryside or along the fjord, and pop into the nearest towns: Skibby, Frederikssund and Jægerspris. Take a drive to Kulhuse and dip your toes in the waves at Kulhuse sandy beach. You can also take the Columbus ferry from Kulhuse to Sølager and explore Arresø, Denmark’s largest lake. There are cycling and walking routes around the lake, or you can head to Hundested, where there’s a wide selection of restaurants and shops.
Get a taste of the local area by stopping off at the many farm shops and specialist shops found in North Zealand. Several restaurants also focus on local and organic produce. You’ll easily find plenty of delicacies to take back to your holiday home.
From Kulhuse, you can quickly reach Jægerspris and Jægerspris Castle. In Nordskoven near Jægerspris stand Denmark’s three oldest oak trees: Storkeegen, Snoegen and Kongeegen. Only Kongeegen remains, and it is estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old. This makes it the oldest oak tree in Northern Europe.
