The area
Gråsten is a charming old small town only 15 km away from the Danish-German border and is surrounded by beautiful nature with woods, lakes and Flensborg Fjord. In Gråsten there are a nice marina with aquapark and wellness facilities as well as good shopping opportunities. Besides, the town is known for the royal summer residence, Gråsten Castle, where you can visit the park when the Royal Family does not stay at the castle. The area´s two largest towns, Aabenraa and Sønderborg, are not far away from Gråsten either and offer many shopping opportunities as well as many cafés and restaurants. In Southern Jutland there are many attractions and activities, Universe Science Park and Sønderborg Castle. During summer you can visit one of the countless Tilting-at-the-ring festivals which are held in several places and which Southern Jutland has a longstanding tradition for.
