Welcome inside

Close your eyes and think back to those summer holidays when time moved a little slower, and days were measured in sunbeams, birdsong and the gentle rustle of the wind in the treetops. This Holiday home is a true step back in time. An older and charming house where the atmosphere lives in the walls and the classic Holiday home feeling is very much alive. Wood from floor to ceiling, exposed beams and a skylight that lets the daylight softly flow in, enhancing the rustic and authentic ambience. Nothing here is polished to perfection – instead, it is rich in character and soul. The living room opens up to the terrace and surrounding nature through large windows and a terrace door, and outside several levels invite you to easily find your own favourite spot in the sun or shade.

The Holiday home offers two cosy and smaller bedrooms, perfectly suited to the age of the house and its intimate character. One features a small double bed and invites slow, peaceful holiday mornings, while the other is furnished with two single beds – just like in classic Holiday homes, where space is used wisely and togetherness comes naturally. As an extra bonus, there is also a charming annex, ideal for summer use and furnished with a double bed – perfect if someone in the group would like a bit of extra privacy.

The bathroom has been newly renovated with respect for the original style of the house. Here, modern comfort meets nostalgic charm, and the new shower feels like a small luxury within the Holiday home’s simple and authentic setting.

Authentic, without embellishment.

Enjoy life outside

Only 300 metres from the beautiful Fjellerup Beach, the holiday feeling begins right at the garden gate. Lace up your running shoes for a refreshing morning run along the water, ending with an invigorating dip in the sea, or take the short walk to the beach with a cool bag, towels and beach toys under your arm. Here, soft sand between your toes, sun-kissed cheeks and plenty of fun await in the shallow waters.

Back at the Holiday home, you are welcomed by a large, wild and bright natural plot, surrounded by tall, beautiful trees that provide shelter, peace and privacy. The terraces are arranged on several levels and on different sides of the house, allowing you to find the perfect spot at any time of day – whether you enjoy your morning coffee in the sun or seek shade during the warmer hours. As evening falls, a calm settles in, and you can lean back to the sound of chirping grasshoppers, the gentle crackle of the grill and that unmistakable Holiday home atmosphere. The old greenhouse is the finishing touch, offering a wonderful place to extend outdoor living when the dew begins to fall or the weather turns a little cooler. It is the perfect setting for long, atmospheric evenings.

Get up close to the local attractions

Fjellerup Beach is beautifully located at the northern tip of Djursland and offers a charming mix of old fishing village and attractive holiday area. The beach is family-friendly, shallow and sandy – and proudly flies the Blue Flag. Fjellerup is also home to what many consider Denmark’s best ice cream shop, famous for its generous cones. Both a supermarket and a bakery are within walking distance, so you can easily enjoy your holiday without needing the car.

The nature around Fjellerup is varied and inviting, with walking trails, small roads and routes ideal for running, walking and cycling. In spring, the landscape is painted with golden rapeseed fields and fresh, light-green forests, while the coastline offers excellent opportunities for fishing. Visit Mejlgård Manor, the ancient stone dolmens at Tustrup and Gl. Estrup Manor, all located nearby. Djurs Sommerland is just a 15-minute drive away, and in around 30 minutes you can reach the town of Grenå, where shopping, cafés and experiences at the Kattegat Centre await. If you have more time, the rest of Djursland offers plenty more to explore – all within an easy drive from the Holiday home.

Recommendations from Holiday home owner

Lyngtoften is my favorite place to relax. It is an older house but with new installations, so the house is functional with its own slightly rustic charm in the middle of the trees.

We walk along the short path directly to the water... a lovely beach with shallow water, so children can swim safely. The grounds are large and natural with lots of wildlife. Our dog and cat also love the place. We have regular summer activities such as walks to Bønnerup and trips to Grenå.

My favorite place to sleep is the annex, where you can enjoy peace and quiet.

I hope you enjoy my house.
