With its large windows, light wooden walls and modern fur­nis­hin­gs, it is a wonderful place to retreat – whether you are enjoying a quiet morning coffee or unwinding in the evening with a good book.

The “main” living room is equally charming, where you can enjoy the cosy warmth from the pellet stove. The three bedrooms are all thought­ful­ly furnished to ensure a good night’s sleep. One room has a double bed, while the two others each have single beds, so the whole family can rest com­fortably after a day full of ad­ven­tu­res. If you are bringing guests along, the annex offers ad­di­tio­nal space with a double bed and its own bathroom – a perfect private retreat for guests, teenagers or a small family.

Enjoy life outside

Outside, a large and private terrace awaits you, complete with com­fortab­le garden furniture where you can savour delicious holiday meals and relax under the open sky. The garden is spacious and level, offering plenty of room for play and ball games. The children can swing high until it tickles in their stomachs, bake sandy “cakes” in the sandbox, and the whole family can play football and score specta­cu­lar world-class goals in the football nets. Just 400 metres from the house, you will find a campfire site and a shelter.

Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions

The house is located in a beau­ti­ful­ly scenic area in northern Djursland. The beach at Store Sjørup is one of Djursland’s most di­stin­cti­ve bathing areas. Close to the shore, the seabed has a fjord-like character, but if you walk out beyond the shallow waters, you will reach sandbanks and then the open sea stretches as far as the eye can see. The beach can almost be compared to a tidal flat, with a clear dif­fe­ren­ce between high and low tide, tidal channels and small saltwater pools.

About 10 km from the house lies the small ferry harbour of Udbyhøj, with a cosy marina and excellent fishing op­portu­ni­ties. From here, a cable ferry crosses to the Randers side. If you take the ferry, you will find a lovely white sandy beach with Blue Flag status and some of Denmark’s cleanest bathing water. If ferry trips are not for you, we recommend a visit to Fjellerup, just 20 minutes from the house. Here you can enjoy a beautiful beach and treat yourself to delicious ice cream at what is con­si­de­red one of Denmark’s best waffle shops.

If you are looking for more nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces, the Coast and Fjord Centre is well worth a visit. We can also recommend exploring Gl. Estrup Manor, the ancient burial mounds at Tustrup, and the largest amusement park in the Nordic region, Djurs Som­mer­land.
