The smaller, yet practical kitchen radiates coziness, quickly turning meal pre­pa­ra­tion into family tra­di­tions and con­ver­sa­tions about the day’s ad­ven­tu­res. The living room is the heart of the house with a wood-burning stove, sofa, and dining table, where you can gather for meals, games, and laughter. Enjoy life outside

The grounds around the holiday home are both charming and versatile. They slope on one side, where the annex is located, and are level on the other, providing plenty of space for play and re­laxa­tion. With a bit of luck and at the right times of the year, you can catch glimpses of the sea on the horizon. Between the house and the annex lies the loveliest sun courtyard, where you can enjoy the sun in sheltered comfort and spend quiet, private moments with family and friends.

Get up close to the local at­tra­ctions

Skovgårde Beach is a calm and very beautiful area a few ki­lo­me­ters west of Fjellerup Beach. Once an old fishing village, it is now a wonderful natural area along the North Djursland coast. The beach is very child-friendly, Blue Flag certified, and has picnic tables and benches where you can grill and enjoy a meal while keeping an eye on the children in the water.

The nature in and around Skovgårde is fantastic and varied, with many walking trails and small roads ideal for hiking and cycling. The coast also offers excellent op­portu­ni­ties for angling. Explore the local area and buy fresh fish, Danish ve­ge­tab­les, and honey. Djurs Som­mer­land, just a 15-minute drive from the house, comes up with a new at­tra­ction every year and is always a hit with the kids. You can also visit bears at the Scan­di­navi­an Wildlife Park, sharks and penguins at the Kattegat Centre, or ex­pe­ri­en­ce life for nobility and servants at Gammel Estrup Manor.

If you’re craving city life and culture, Denmark’s second-largest city, Aarhus, is just an hour’s drive away. Or why not visit Randers Regnskov and the “tropics,” about half an hour from the house? Djursland offers endless po­s­si­bi­li­ties for family fun, nature, and ex­pe­ri­en­ces.
