Get up close to the local attractions
Elsegårde Strand is an idyllic, quiet pearl that promises the best fishing and swimming in the Kattegat. The beach offers a fantastic view of the beautiful, historically significant island of Hjelm, which was the refuge of Marsk Stig - one of the masterminds behind the assassination of King Erik Klipping in 1286. Today, the island is uninhabited but is home to a rich variety of wildlife. Elsegårde Strand is known among anglers as an excellent sea trout spot. Just under six kilometres separate your holiday home from the old town of Ebeltoft, where you and your family will find many sights such as the old town hall, Det Gamle Rådhus, the famous glass museum and the Maltfabrikken cultural centre. Stroll through the maritime harbour area and wander through the fairytale old cobbled streets with crooked little houses adorned with hollyhocks. Fun and variety for young and old is guaranteed with trips to Ree-Park and the largest amusement park in the north, Djurs Sommerland. Both are just over half an hour's drive away.
