Danish Holiday Home Style with a French Touch and a View of Skovgårde Beach
House-ID: 8965Welcome inside
Step into a holiday home with a truly unique atmosphere – like a little piece of southern France in the heart of Denmark. Here, the French country style meets Danish hygge, giving you the best of both worlds – authentic charm and a wonderfully relaxed holiday vibe.
The bright dining room sets the scene for cozy meals and long conversations, while the living room invites you to unwind with a soft sofa, TV, and a wood-burning stove spreading warmth and ambience as evening falls. Everything is connected in an open plan with a charming country-style kitchen – perfectly sized for holiday living – where the scent of freshly baked bread and slow mornings seem to linger in the air.
Inside the holiday home, you’ll find two comfortable bedrooms, and in the two annexes, each with a double bed, friends or family can enjoy a bit of extra privacy. There’s a separate bathroom and a separate toilet – practical and convenient when you’re travelling together.
A stay here feels like being on holiday in Provence – only with Danish nature as the backdrop. It’s a place to breathe deeply, enjoy each other’s company, and embrace the gentle rhythm of holiday life.
Enjoy life outside
Outside, the French holiday spirit truly unfolds – beautifully blending with the Danish seasons. Here you’ll find about 100 m² of terrace space, of which 60 m² are covered and transformed into no less than four cozy outdoor living areas. Two spots are perfect for a glass of wine while enjoying the evening view of the sea, while another area lies right by the kitchen – an inviting space for long barbecue dinners at the large dining table. The fourth cozy corner greets you at the entrance, where two wicker chairs and the scent of a fig tree welcome you with a touch of southern charm and instant holiday feeling.
When the sun is shining, there are also lovely corners for sunbathing, relaxing, or dining. The large lawn invites play, and the entire garden is fenced, so both children and four-legged family members can run freely and safely around.
Get up close to the local attractions
Skovgårde Beach is a peaceful and scenic area a few kilometers west of Fjellerup Beach – once a small fishing village, now a beautiful nature spot along the coast of Northern Djursland. The beach is very family-friendly, has a Blue Flag, and offers picnic tables where you can grill and dine while enjoying the sea view – and perhaps the children are still splashing in the waves.
The surrounding nature is stunning and varied, with plenty of hiking trails and small roads ideal for walking or cycling. Along the coast, you’ll find great spots for angling, and in the local area, you can buy freshly caught fish, Danish vegetables, and honey directly from the producers.
Djurs Sommerland, just a 15-minute drive from the house, adds new attractions every year and is always a hit with children. You can also visit bears at the Scandinavian Wildlife Park, sharks and penguins at the Kattegat Center, or experience life of nobility and servants at Gammel Estrup Manor. If you crave a bit of city life and culture, Denmark’s second-largest city, Aarhus, is only an hour’s drive away. Or visit Randers Rainforest – a tropical adventure just half an hour from the house.
Wherever you go on Djursland, there’s a world of experiences waiting for you.
