Family holiday home in Skovgårde – Watch the sun rise in the east and set in the west
House-ID: 8928Welcome inside
Do you dream of peace, sea views, and cosy moments in a lovely holiday home where the holiday simply unfolds on its own? Here you’ll find a true gem in a very special location – with views of the sea from both the living room and the insulated conservatory, where you can enjoy the light all year round. In the conservatory, you can lean back in the comfortable armchairs with a soft blanket and a good book, letting your gaze wander across the water – or gather around the small dining table for a quiet breakfast or relaxed family time. Around the house, you’ll find several terraces, so you can always find a sheltered spot for your morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening sun.
The house also offers a lovely kitchen and a welcoming dining area in open connection with the living room. The living room is cosy and tastefully furnished with solid furniture, a TV, and even a comfortable dog sofa, so your four-legged family member will feel right at home.
The sleeping arrangements are spread across two bedrooms in the house – one with a double bed and one with two single beds. In addition, there is a charming annex with two single beds, which can be used during the summer season – perfect for teenagers or guests who would like their own little retreat.
The bathroom is practical and functional, and in the spacious entrance hall you will find both a washing machine, a freezer, and plenty of room for a pram.
Lower your shoulders and enjoy life.
Enjoy life outside
Outside, a wonderful outdoor space awaits where holiday life can be enjoyed to the fullest. The plot is partially enclosed, making it ideal for both dogs and younger guests, who can move around and play safely.
From the terrace with a view, you can follow the sun from east to west and enjoy the beautiful views over the garden and the sea – perfect for morning coffee and long, bright summer evenings. The covered barbecue terrace provides shelter and creates a cosy setting for shared meals regardless of the weather, while the large tiled terrace facing south invites you to sunbathe, relax, and soak up the holiday atmosphere.
Get up close to the local attractions
Skovgårde Strand is a მშვიდ and very beautiful area a few kilometres west of Fjellerup Strand. Once an old fishing village, it is now a lovely natural area along the coast of North Djursland. The beach is very child-friendly, holds the Blue Flag certification, and offers tables and benches where you can grill and enjoy a meal while taking in the view of the water – perhaps while the children are still playing in the sea.
The nature in and around Skovgårde is fantastic and varied, with many walking trails and small roads that are ideal for hiking and cycling. Along the coast, there are excellent opportunities for fishing. Explore the local area and buy fresh fish, Danish vegetables, and honey. Djurs Sommerland, just a 15-minute drive from the house, is a favourite for children and introduces new attractions almost every year. You can also visit bears at Skandinavisk Dyrepark, sharks and penguins at Kattegatcentret, or experience life as nobility and servants at Gammel Estrup Manor.
If you feel like city life and culture, Denmark’s second-largest city, Aarhus, is only about an hour’s drive away. Or why not visit Randers Rainforest and experience the “tropics” just 30 minutes from the house? There are plenty of opportunities for unforgettable experiences all across Djursland.
