ÆrøXpressen

Marstal

Marstal is the largest town on Ærø with a proud maritime history which is why the town is also known as “Skipper Town” colloquially. This sense of pride particularly manifests itself in the local town life. The harbour is a well-known gathering place for townspeople and holidaymakers, and the maritime museum is one of the major attractions in the area. Here you can delve into the maritime history of the town and enjoy exhibitions on the shipping trade. The town centre features a lovely shopping street and here you can shop to your heart’s content and sample local delicacies. And a mere stone’s throw from Marstal, you will find Eriks Hale Strand overlooking some of the colourful beach huts on the island.
Hvid kirke i Ølgod

Ølgod

A little inland you will find Ølgod, with its unique history and charm. Here you will find a wonderful mix of cultural and historical sights, local dining experiences, cosy shops, unique nature experiences and much more. The old railway town is full of soul and charm, and you can practically feel the history in the beautiful old buildings. Visit the historic church or the city’s many museums, which give an insight into life in the region throughout history. Ølgod also offers outstanding nature experiences and many lovely hiking and cycling routes that take you through the varied landscape.
Klitter i Grønhøj

Grønhøj

There is a reason why this popular summer land area is named Grønhøj (Green Hill). The area is surrounded by magnificent green nature in rolling hillscape. From Grønhøj, you have direct access to the nature reserve Lille Norge which is a true paradise for those enjoying longer hikes and exploration of nature. When holidaying in a summer cottage in Grønhøj, you are also really close to the popular sandy beach in the area. Grønhøj beach is popular for its fascinating dune landscape, fine sand and crystal-clear water. That is why the beach is perfect for sunbathing and watersports as well.
