Put on your walking shoes and go exploring in the surrounding area. Enjoy nature in the area without the stressful hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Rent gear and equipment at your holiday destination rather than buying it.
Then you don’t have to transport it. A lot of equipment ends up sitting unused in a corner.
Relax and wind down. Read a good book on the terrace, play with your kids or take a stroll along the water. The environment, your body, your family and your soul will benefit from it. Turn off your family’s screens and spend time together.
Look for the Bathing Water Flag when you plan on going swimming. If a beach has a Bathing Water Flag, this means that the water quality is good.

Dine locally and buy local ingredients for your meals. Of course, don’t miss out on tasting the local ingredients in Tversted and Skagen, for example.
Avoid food waste. For example, wait to order dessert until you know you can eat it all.
Many places will give you a doggie bag so you can take your leftovers home with you.
Eat a few more greens and a little less meat—it’s healthy for both you and the environment.

Avoid leaving traces in nature—take your waste with you.
Sort your waste into the right containers so it can be recycled.
Take care of nature. Avoid disturbing animals and plants, especially in the area’s Natura 2000 areas.

Leave your car behind and take a bike. If you didn’t bring a bicycle, then you can rent one here.
Use public transport whenever possible. That way you reduce CO2 emissions and you can get a better look at your holiday area through the window. Find your route on the itinerary or at Nordjyllands Trafikselskab.

Remember your shopping bag. It is always a good idea to have a reusable bag with you when shopping to avoid plastic and save money.
Buy quality instead of quantity. Quality products last longer and you will definitely be happier with a quality product.
Bring your own water bottle instead of buying bottled water. We have fresh, healthy and cold tap water in Denmark.
