A-Z

A-Z

We’ve gathered answers to the most common questions about renting a holiday home with Feriepartner.

Arrival and Departure

Your rental certificate states where to pick up the key to your holiday home. It also specifies the time from which the property is available on the day of arrival, as well as the latest departure time on your check-out day.

Special note regarding key collection at the local office:
If you arrive outside of office hours, your key will be available in the office’s key box or key room.
If you depart outside of office hours, please return the key to the office’s mailbox or key box.

Waste Disposal

At the holiday home, there will either be a waste container or a waste bag.
Collection schedules vary by location, so you may not find an empty container or bag upon arrival.
All waste must be sorted and disposed of according to the local guidelines.
If the property is left with an overflowing container or unsorted waste, Feriepartner reserves the right to charge a fee for removal.

Distances

All distances have been measured online using Google Earth and are stated as the crow flies.
The information has been provided to the best of our ability.

Allergies

Only holiday homes marked as “allergy-friendly” can guarantee that no pets have ever been present.
Even if the house description states that pets are not allowed, the owner or their guests may have brought pets to the property.

Feriepartner staff cannot be held responsible for allergic reactions related to house dust.
Please note that individuals with dust allergies are advised to choose houses with wooden or tiled floors.

Use of the Holiday Home

The holiday home may only be used for recreational purposes and not for parties or gatherings without prior approval from the owner.
Feriepartner reserves the right to contact the tenant if there is a justified suspicion that the home is being used for non-recreational purposes.

Swimming Safety Guidelines

In some coastal areas of Denmark, swimming can be dangerous. Please follow these safety tips:

  1. Learn how to swim and dive properly
  2. Never swim alone
  3. Only swim where it is allowed
  4. Don’t go deeper than waist height
  5. Only dive where the water is deep enough
  6. Swim parallel to the shore
  7. Never swim under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  8. Get out of the water if you start feeling cold

For more local swimming advice, contact your local Feriepartner office.

High Chair, Cot, and Pull Wagon

At most local offices, high chairs, cots, and pull wagons can be borrowed free of charge if picked up and returned by the guest.
The items will be handed out along with the house key upon arrival and must be returned no later than on the day of departure.

If your holiday home uses a key box, the borrowed items (high chair, cot, and/or pull wagon) must be collected from and returned to the local office.

Some local offices may charge a fee for renting these items. Please check with the specific Feriepartner office for details.

Payment

The first instalment is a prepayment of 25% of the total rental amount. The remaining balance and deposit must be paid no later than 70 days before the start of the rental period.
For bookings made less than 70 days before the rental period begins, the full amount is due immediately.

Along with the rental certificate, all guests receive bank details including IBAN and SWIFT codes for payment.
All guests can also pay by credit card via the Feriepartner website.

Firewood

Firewood is not included in the rental price but can be purchased at local supermarkets, for example.
If there is firewood stored at the holiday home, it belongs to the owner and may only be used or purchased if clearly permitted. Payment in such cases goes directly to the owner and should be left in the house before departure.

It is not permitted to collect firewood from forests or beaches, as it may contain salt, which can damage the wood-burning stove.

In strong winds or storms, the stove or fireplace may not function properly, as the wind can cause smoke to be pushed back down the chimney.

Construction Noise

During your stay, construction work may occur in the surrounding area.
Feriepartner has no way of knowing where or when construction or renovation work will take place and therefore cannot be held responsible for any inconvenience caused by such noise.

Bicycles

Some holiday homes provide bicycles for tenants to use freely.
However, Feriepartner assumes no responsibility for the condition, quality, or any defects of the bicycles.

Bicycle Rental

Bicycles can be rented in the local area. Feriepartner will gladly assist you with further information if needed.

Deposit / Utilities

A) Deducted from consumption
A deposit is required for every rental and is paid with the second instalment.
After departure, the property will be inspected. Utility charges will be deducted from the deposit, and the remaining amount will be refunded within 14 days to the bank account you have provided.

B) Not deducted from consumption
A deposit is required for every rental and is paid with the second instalment.
After departure, the property will be inspected. In this case, utility charges are not deducted from the deposit but must be paid separately upon departure, according to instructions from the rental office.
The deposit will be refunded within 14 days to the bank account you have provided.

Electricity

All holiday homes have 220-volt electricity.

Energy Consumption

Feriepartner recommends that you monitor your energy usage during your stay.

Fishing License

A fishing license for coastal fishing can be purchased at www.fisketegn.dk.

Utility Costs

Electricity and, if applicable, oil consumption meters must be read upon arrival and departure, and the readings must be entered in Mit Feriepartner (My Feriepartner). A link for this will be sent to you before the start of your stay.

In some regions, water consumption is charged separately, while in others it is included in the rental price. This will be specified in your utility registration.

If meter readings are not provided, Feriepartner will estimate the consumption.

Lost Items

Feriepartner stores lost and forgotten items for up to three months after the end of your stay.
Items can be returned to you at your own expense.

Barbecue

Most holiday homes come with a barbecue as part of the inventory.
Feriepartner does not assume any responsibility for the condition or quality of the barbecue.

Property / Plot

In Feriepartner's property descriptions, you may often see the term “natural plot.”
This refers to areas with heathland, tall grass, uneven terrain, or wild-growing nature. These natural plots are left in their natural state, meaning you cannot expect the entire area to be usable or maintained.

For example, grass may not be mowed for playing ball games.
It is not permitted to place a caravan or pitch a tent on the property.

Please also read the section titled “Guests.”

Guests

Please note that the number of overnight guests in the holiday home may never exceed the number stated in the house description.
It is also not permitted to set up tents, caravans, or motorhomes on the property.

Outdoor Furniture

All holiday homes are equipped with outdoor furniture, meaning a table and chairs.
Items such as parasols, sun loungers, and cushions are not included in this category and should not be expected to be available at the property.

Pets

Pets are welcome in many of Feriepartner’s holiday homes, but please read the house description carefully before making a booking.
In homes where pets are allowed, your pet must remain within the boundaries of the property. Pets do not need to be leashed on the property itself, but in all other areas – including public roads – they must be on a leash, unless otherwise stated by public regulations.

Pets may not, under any circumstances, be left alone in the holiday home, nor are they allowed on any furniture, beds, or similar.
We kindly ask that you clean up after your pet both inside and outside the holiday home – including removing pet hair indoors and any droppings outdoors – to ensure a pleasant stay for the next guests.

If it is found that pets have been brought into a holiday home where pets are not allowed, or if more pets have been brought than permitted, the tenant is required to pay a fee of DKK 5,000 to Feriepartner for breaching the house description and general rental terms.
This also applies if it is found that a pet has been on the furniture, in the pool area, or similar.

Furnishing and Equipment

All holiday homes are privately owned and furnished according to the owner’s personal taste and preferences.
Feriepartner cannot be held responsible for meeting individual expectations.

Unless otherwise stated, all holiday homes are equipped with a toilet, hot and cold water, handheld shower/shower cabin, stove, coffee machine, vacuum cleaner, and radiators.
Beds come with duvets (in some cases feather duvets), pillows, and possibly a mattress topper.
Cutlery and kitchen utensils are provided for the number of guests permitted in the home.

If you have questions about the furnishings, feel free to contact us.

You will need to bring the following items with you: bed linen, towels, tea towels, dishcloths, tablecloth, and toiletries.
Cleaning products are not always available in the holiday home, so we kindly ask you to bring your own.

Information About the Holiday Home

If you have questions about the holiday home, you can find helpful information in the property's digital info folder via Mit Feriepartner (My Feriepartner) or your booking login.

Directions

You can generate directions to your holiday home using services like Google Maps.

Bed Linen

A linen package includes: bed linen, one small and one large towel, and a tea towel.
How linen packages are delivered varies by local office and may follow one of these options:

A) Delivered to the holiday home and collected after departure by cleaning staff
Pre-ordered linen packages will be delivered to the holiday home by our staff and should be left in the house upon departure.

B) Picked up when collecting the house key and returned by the tenant
Linen packages can be ordered at the local office. They will be handed out when you collect the house key and must be returned to the office upon departure.

C) If linen packages are not pre-ordered before the rental period begins, a delivery fee will be charged by Feriepartner.

Note: If the linen is delivered in reusable fabric bags, these must also be returned with the used linen at check-out.

Military Exercises

In some areas of Denmark, military exercises may occasionally take place.
These activities are typically scheduled outside of peak holiday periods.
For more information, please contact your local Feriepartner office.

Please note that some exercises are planned at short notice, and detailed information may not be available in advance.

Electric Car Charging

The house description under Facilities on the website will state whether charging an electric vehicle (including hybrids) at the holiday home is permitted.
If charging is allowed, the type of charger available and approved for use will also be specified under Facilities.

If the tenant charges an electric vehicle in violation of the house description, the tenant will be held fully liable to Feriepartner and the property owner for any damages or losses resulting from the unauthorized charging.

Complaints

Any damage or complaints must be reported to Feriepartner immediately upon arrival.
If that is not possible, the report must be made no later than 48 hours after check-in.

Damages, defects, or complaints do not automatically entitle the tenant to a discount or compensation (see §6 of the General Terms and Conditions).

Smoking

If it is found that smoking has taken place inside a non-smoking holiday home, the tenant is required to pay a fee of DKK 5,000 to Feriepartner for breaching the house description.
Whether smoking is permitted in the holiday home will be stated in the individual house description.

Beds / Sleeping Arrangements / Closet Space

Bed sizes vary considerably. The width of a double bed typically ranges from approx. 120 to 180 cm, and the length from 175 to 200 cm.
Single beds vary in width from 60 to 85 cm and in length from 175 to 200 cm.
Double beds often consist of one large mattress, although sometimes they are made up of two single mattresses. In many cases, a protective top mattress is used for hygiene and appearance reasons. Please place your own sheet over the top mattress.

Storage space in holiday homes is usually limited.
You should not expect to be able to hang or store all your clothes in closets. Some closets may be open or covered by a curtain.

Final Cleaning

A) Cleaning included
If final cleaning is included, you won’t need to spend the last part of your holiday cleaning. However, the holiday home must still be left tidy upon departure, and the dishwasher, refrigerator, and waste bins must be emptied.

B) Cleaning ordered
Treat yourself to a more relaxing end to your holiday by letting Feriepartner handle the cleaning.
You can order cleaning when booking your stay or directly at the local office – no later than three days before departure.

C) Cleaning done by tenant
If you choose to clean the holiday home yourself, it must be left clean and tidy before departure. This includes both interior and exterior window cleaning, vacuuming, and dusting.
Tile, linoleum, or wooden floors must be vacuumed and mopped.
The kitchen (including stove, cabinets, utensils, etc.) and refrigerator must be clean and dry.
Please leave the refrigerator door open. No food items may be left in the house!

Spa Bath

Hygiene in spa baths is extremely important.
Feriepartner ensures that the spa is thoroughly cleaned after every stay to combat bacteria.

If you use the spa, you must add one chlorine tablet per person.
Tablets are available in all holiday homes with a spa bath.
Please do not turn on the spa until the water level is 10–15 cm above the jets.

Health Insurance

It is recommended to bring your health insurance card when going on holiday.

TV / Satellite TV

Many holiday homes are equipped with a TV and satellite connection.
The satellite box is set up according to the owner's preferences, so you should not expect access to all Danish channels.
Poor signal or complete loss of reception may occur due to weather conditions.

If problems with the TV or satellite reception arise, repairs cannot be guaranteed during weekends or evening hours.
In cases of incorrect operation or changes to the settings made by the tenant, Feriepartner reserves the right to charge the tenant for any necessary repair or reset.

Always read the user manual or contact Feriepartner if you are unsure how to use the equipment.

Young Guests – Groups of 3 or More

Due to previous issues related to rentals for young guests (e.g. damage to property or lack of final cleaning), Feriepartner has introduced a minimum age requirement of 25 years for groups of more than two people.

This rule does not apply to young people on holiday with their parents, or to two young people renting a holiday home together.
Spot checks may occur.

Pests / Insects

Please note that Danish holiday homes are located in natural surroundings.
It is therefore normal to encounter ants, flies, or spiders in and around the property — this is part of staying close to nature and unfortunately cannot be avoided.

In the event of a severe insect infestation, please contact Feriepartner.
We will do our best to assist you.

Washing Machine, Dryer, Dishwasher

Many holiday homes are equipped with a washing machine, dryer, and/or dishwasher.
If a malfunction occurs, repairs cannot be guaranteed during weekends or evening hours.

In cases of incorrect use by the tenant, Feriepartner reserves the right to charge the tenant for any resulting repairs.
Please always read the user manual or contact Feriepartner if you are unsure how to operate the appliances.

Weather Conditions

Feriepartner cannot be held responsible if your arrival at or departure from the holiday home or key collection point is prevented by snow, ice, or other weather-related conditions.
This also applies to any damages, including personal injury, caused by such weather conditions.

Renting a Holiday Home During the Winter Months

From October 1st to March 31st, the holiday home will be pre-heated so that the indoor temperature is approximately 15°C upon arrival.
In homes with a swimming pool, the pool temperature will be between 24°C and 28°C.
