Bøjden

Bøjden is a charming port town on the south-western part of Funen. The area is particularly popular due to the most wonderful seaviews right outside your cottage door. You will also find child-friendly beaches nearby for the youngest holiday guests to splash about safely at the water’s edge under supervision. The region is home to scenic areas with various established trails. Here you can go for walks along the coast and the green surroundings. From Bøjden you can jump on a ferry headed for Als. So if you need a break from paradise on Southern Funen, you can easily take a full-day excursion to the fields of Southern Jutland.

Faldsled

A village atmosphere and the bliss of Southern Funen is probably what make Faldsled famous and no wonder. In the cobbled streets and alleys of the town, you can see well-preserved half-timbered houses that bear witness of the days before the dawn of time. And this little village is hiding a genuine gastronomic gem. This is home to the famous gourmet restaurant, Falsled Kro. The small village is surrounded by open countryside and rolling fields as far as the eye can see. Fåborg

In Fåborg, you can enjoy everything good from Southern Funen. A central location means that you can explore the surrounding natural scenery, enjoy life on the beach or stop up and take in the spectacular views of South Funen Archipelago. Fåborg one of the oldest market towns in Denmark and the historic charm and bliss also manifest themselves in the streets and alleys of the town centre. Here you will find old churches and historic buildings, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries, adorning the street scene. From Fåborg Harbour, a small ferry makes it possible for you to visit the many islands of Southern Funen, little pearls off the coast.

Helnæs

Helnæs is a genuine little gem in the South Funen Archipelago. The peninsula is connected to the mainland via a natural dam and it is close to both the port town of Assens and the market town of Faaborg. When driving across the dam to the small peninsula, you will feel embraced by the outstanding nature. This is where you will find Brobakkerne, a large embankment formed back in the Ice Age and in summer, it is covered with the finest summer flowers. You can also experience the spectacular nature from the water. Jump in a kayak and explore the Little Belt.

Horne Som­mer­land

Horne Sommerland is a popular summer land area on Southern Funen. The region is surrounded by beautiful green nature with open countryside and idyllic coastlines. Around these parts, you will have a range of outdoor activities right at your fingertips. Among other things, coastal hiking trails, bicycle tracks for you to explore the local wildlife and flora that are particularly characteristic of the surrounding on Southern Funen. The region is also attracting anglers as both sailing and angling are extremely popular activities around these parts. Near the summer land area, you will also find the port town of Bøjden and from here, you can reach Als directly by ferry.

Klintholm Strand

Klintholm Strand is a summer land area on the south-eastern coast of Funen. And the area is especially known for its fantastic beach. With its fine sand and shallow water, the beach is perfect for the whole family. Here the youngest holiday guests can safely splash around at the water’s edge while you laze in the sun. And the magic does not stop here. Klintholm Strand has several bathing jetties making it possible for you to jump into the blue sea quickly and easily. In and around Klintholm, you will find surroundings full of nature featuring open countryside and fresh sea breezes along the coast. Svendborg

Svendborg is known as the most beautiful market town of Southern Funen. Originally an old seafaring town, it offers a really special maritime atmosphere with seaviews and a harbour environment buzzing with life. The old seafaring town oozes historic charm. You experience the history of Southern Funen up close by paying the Latin Quarter, the oldest part of Svendborg, a visit. In the Latin Quarter, you can visit an abundance of stores and small local shops and sample local delicacies in the restaurants and cafés of the area. Svendborg town centre is also the hub of various musical events all year round, creating life in the streets to a degree.

Tårup Strand

Tårup Strand is a summer land area on the eastern coast of Funen, surrounded by a hillscape and overlooking the clear water of the Great Belt. Here you can take walks along the coast, enjoy the views and the fresh sea air and – if you are lucky – spot ships om their journey through the Great Belt. You will see that the beach in the area changes character the further up the coast you go. The first part of the beach consists of a stone bed and it has a bathing jetty while 1 km further up the coast, you are met by a fine sandy beach offering the opportunity to play in the water and sunbathe. Take a long swim in the blue sea or laze in the sun all day long. The choice is yours.

Tåsinge

Tåsinge is located in the South Funen Archipelago and is connected to Funen via Svendborgsundbroen (Svendborg Sound Bridge). On Tåsinge, you can enjoy the beautiful nature of Southern Funen, seaviews and luxuriant woodlands where the trails guide you on your explorations of the wildlife and flora of the area. On the southern part of Tåsinge, you have the summer land area of Stenodden. Here times appear to stand still and the quietude is only interrupted by the croaking of the European fire-bellied toads in the distance. Near Stenodden, you will find an extremely child-friendly beach with shallow, calm water. The beach has plenty of room for splashing around in the water, relaxation as well as canoeing and kayaking all day long.
