Holiday homes in Haurvig

From many of the holiday homes in the eastern and rolling parts of Haurvig you get a fantastic view of Ringkøbing Fjord and the surrounding countryside.

This is also where you will find the idyllic little fjord harbour, Vinterleje Havn, where you can admire the magnificent sunrise over the fjord. The western part of Haurvig towards the North Sea is characterised by more of a harsh landscape. Here, it is evident how the sea and wind have sculpted the landscape, with the high dunes, huge heath areas and the small wind-blown conifers.

Along the entire Holmsland Klit and through Haurvig runs the West Coast cycling route which continues along the entire Danish North Sea coast. You can bicycle from Haurvig to Hvide Sande on a gravel path through the gorgeous landscape and along tiny, quaint holiday cottage roads.

You can also take the 10 minute drive to Hvide Sande and experience a working fishing village, which is bustling with life year round.

Hvide Sande is also where you should buy your fresh fish, and then fire up the grill when you return to your holiday home in Haurvig.

Water sports near Haurvig

If you want to try various kinds of water sports on your holiday, there are tonnes of opportunities in the vicinity. Travel a few kilometres north to Aargab and you will find a major surfing centre on the fjord side. Here, you can try your hand at both wind surfing and kite surfing.

In Haurvig itself, you'll find the old wreckmaster's house, Abeline's House, which has now been converted into a museum.

Fishermen should not miss out on a trip to the water locks in Hvide Sande to test their skills catching herring and garfish. In spring, you can experience the year's angling high point with the kickoff of the traditional Herring Festival.
