Description
Atmospheric holiday home of the old-fashioned type with large, enclosed garden to the west - located peacefully on a small road and is nevertheless close to fine beach and shopping.
Interior
This small holiday home with room for 4 people is a cosy, older house at beautiful Mårup Østerstrand in the northern part of Samsø. The yellow house is ideal for an intimate summer cottage, where outdoor life and cosiness is central for your stay. When you arrive at the house, there is a nice wooden terrace with entrance to the kitchen and the small hallway, from where you can access the bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen. A washing machine and tumble dryer are in the hallway cupboard.
In the kitchen there is a cosy dining area with bench and chairs. There is plenty of space for preparing the meals of the day and everything you need for cooking on your holiday is provided such as oven, dishwasher and coffee machine. It is not as new, but it is bright and functional. From the kitchen there is an open connection to the living room, which is furnished with good sofas and armchairs. There is space for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves together. In the colder months it is perfect to light up the central wood stove. If you want to turn on the TV, there is a selection of Danish- and Viasat TV-channels. From the living room there is also access to a covered terrace and good views of the large and green garden.
The house has two nice bedrooms, one with a good double bed, closet space and TV. The other room is perfect for the kids with a double bunk and cot, and here is room to play. There is of course also a nice and bright bathroom with shower next to the bedrooms.
In addition to the wood-burning stove in the living room, the house is heated by a heat pump and electric radiators.
In the garden is an annex with an extra double bed and space for two overnight guests. The annex is mainly for summer use, as it is unheated and without electricity.
Outdoor
The large, enclosed garden to the west has plenty of space for ball games and play in the sandpit or on the swings. The garden is enclosed by shrubs and trees, so it is possible to be completely in peace and relax or light up the fireplace in the garden. The house has two terraces, one of which has access from the kitchen, so it is perfect to enjoy breakfast here.
The other terrace is connected to the living room and half covered. On the spacious terrace there are several garden furniture, and it is possible to sit both in the shade and enjoy the sunshine here. There is also a barbecue, so when the weather allows you to, meals can be prepared and enjoyed on the terrace.
At the house there is ample parking, so you can walk the short way to the beach, which is only 350 meters from the house.
Location
The northern part of Samsø is a popular destination for tourists. Here are some of the island's best beaches and magnificent, protected landscapes - including Nordby Bakker and Issehoved. Look forward to many great walks here, as it is always a new experience to walk in the beautiful landscapes, whether it is summer, winter or spring.
The well-preserved village of Nordby has cafés, eateries and an idyllic street surrounded by half-timbered houses. Opposite the charming bell tower in the middle of Nordby, is the old school, which today serves as the local library and tourist information centre. Nordby is also home to the world's largest maze! There are hours of fun with quizzes along the way to help you find the middle of the maze - and out again.
About 1.5 km from the house is Mårup Brugs, a grocery store where you can do your shopping or rent a bike all year round. In Mårup there is also a small harbour on the west side of the island. Here you will find a nicely situated restaurant and the possibility for lovely walks.
From Mårup Østerstrand it is about 15 kilometres to the largest town Tranebjerg, which is located on the south island. Here there are good opportunities for shopping and a café visit. Distances are short on Samsø, so you can easily make an excursion by bike to the charming villages located a few kilometres away. For example, visit a specialty shop or gallery in Permelille, or discover the beautifully situated old ferry port in Kolby Kås.
Ballen has a lively and pleasant maritime life in the summer, and the harbour town is home to a wide selection of restaurants and some of the island's best beaches. Samsø Nature School and the area around Stavns Fjord also always offer adventures in the beautiful countryside for children and adults.
