Welcome inside
Inside, you are welcomed by a bright and harmonious interior, where shades of white, grey, brown and black have been chosen with inspiration from and respect for Rømø’s colorful natural surroundings. The heart of the house is the spacious living area, where the kitchen, dining area and lounge merge into one inviting space beneath the vaulted ceiling. Exposed beams and the characteristic ridge skylight add charm and flood the room with natural light, creating a truly special atmosphere. The comfortable leather furniture in the living room invites you to relax in front of the centrally positioned wood-burning stove, while modern entertainment equipment such as a 50" 4K UHD Smart TV with Chromecast, Bluetooth surround sound system, Blu-ray player and stereo system makes it easy to gather the family for cozy evenings together. The rustic and functional kitchen is well equipped with induction hobs, a fan-assisted oven with grill and pyrolytic cleaning function, microwave oven and dishwasher, allowing cooking to become an enjoyable part of your holiday. On the first floor, a large mezzanine overlooks the living area, while the bedroom beneath the sloping ceilings offers the opportunity to gaze at the stars directly from your bed through the roof windows. The wellness area is an experience in itself, featuring a spacious bathroom with a two-person whirlpool bath offering adjustable air and water massage as well as light therapy. From here, you have direct access to the sauna, while the second bathroom is equipped with a steam cabin and light therapy. Underfloor heating and the house’s energy-efficient heat pumps ensure a comfortable indoor climate throughout the year. The holiday home is equipped with free wireless fibre internet and a charging station for electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles to meet modern holiday needs. The two heat pumps also contribute to low energy consumption, with the air-to-air heat pump providing both heating and air conditioning, while the air-to-water heat pump supplies heat to the underfloor heating, radiators and domestic hot water.
Enjoy life outside
The holiday home enjoys a peaceful setting on a lovely natural plot where the surrounding trees provide shelter and enhance the sense of tranquility. The large 65 m² terrace extends around the house to the east, south and west, allowing you to follow the sun throughout most of the day. Comfortable outdoor furniture invites you to spend long holiday days relaxing with a good book and pleasant company, while the large stone barbecue sets the scene for atmospheric evenings filled with delicious meals and fresh North Sea air. There is plenty of space for children to play on the grounds. The trampoline, swings and covered sandbox offer hours of fun, while adults can slow down and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Practical details have also been carefully considered.
Get up close to the local attractions
The central location on Rømø makes it easy to explore everything the island has to offer. On the west coast, Lakolk Strand and Sønderstrand await, both among the widest sandy beaches in Europe. Here, you can swim in the North Sea, fly kites, enjoy horseback riding along the shoreline or try popular activities such as blokart sailing and kite buggying, for which Sønderstrand is particularly well known. On the eastern side of the island, the Wadden Sea National Park stretches across a fascinating landscape shaped by the tides. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area offers outstanding nature experiences throughout the year. Guided excursions such as oyster safaris, seal safaris and walks across the tidal flats allow you to experience this remarkable natural environment up close, which serves as one of Europe’s largest feeding grounds for migratory birds. You will also find ample opportunities to explore Rømø’s heather-covered moorlands, woodland areas and scenic viewpoints, as well as visit the National Museum’s Kommandørgård, which tells the story of the island’s proud maritime heritage. If you feel like venturing beyond the island, the historic towns of Ribe and Tønder, as well as the German holiday island of Sylt, are all within easy reach. In other words, this is a holiday destination where modern comfort, wellness and magnificent nature experiences go hand in hand.
