Description
Together with Korshage, Skansehage is the oldest holiday house area in Odsherred. It is an attractive location in the north-eastern corner of Northwest Zealand, close to Kattegat and Isefjord, and with heather-covered nature plots it is a perfect place for holiday and relaxation
Welcome inside
The house offers a roomy and lovely living and dining room with open kitchen and a view to the terrace and the heather-covered nature plot. You can easily get lost in your own thoughts just by sitting or lying in the sofa, following the wind in the trees, the rustling of the leaves and the change from light to shade. But you could also take out a board game, a quiz or a deck of cards and spend some cosy hours with the family. When you want to rest after a long day with good activities outdoor and indoor, you will quickly fall asleep in one of the many bedrooms or in the bed recess.
Enjoy life outside
Skansehage is one of the oldest and most attractive holiday house areas in Odsherred. In the beautiful heathery nature area close to Kattegat and Skansehage Bay by the Isefjord, you have a 2000 m2 big and fantastic nature plot at your disposal. Here you have room to play with your dog, room for swings and play areas for the children, a terrace and spots for sunbathing, to barbecue the dinner or to read or may paint or draw.
Get close to the local attractions
It takes only five minutes to walk to the bathing beach in the bay by Skansehage, a point on the Rørvig peninsula by the outermost of Isefjord, giving shelter from the wind and a favourite spot for bathers as well as anglers and yachtsmen that are anchored in the deep bay. A few hundred metres from the beach you find the protected area Isøre Ting with Kongestenen. The legend says that the kings were elected here during the Viking Age.
Feriepartner Odsherred recommends to visit Rørvig harbour with a lively atmosphere during summer. Here there is a fishmonger, a bistro and a fish buffet restaurant plus several other cafés, restaurants and eating places. Also a walk on the Fjord Path is recommendable; here you can enjoy the sun glinting in the sea and continue up on the narrow street Strædet with Nisselunden (=Gnome garden) and past the lovely old houses.
If you bring children on your holiday, we at Feriepartner Odsherred recommend an outing to the amusement park Sommerland Sjælland east of Højby with an abundance of activities and a very beautiful park for all ages.
If you are into culinary treats, you should visit one of the Michelin-rewarded restaurants in the area: Dragsholm Castle by Fårevejle or restaurant MOTA in Anneberg Culture Park south of Nykøbing.
And no not miss experiences in the heights: the hills of Vejrhøj at Vindekilde or Esterhøj by Høve. You may also walk the 7 km long route, the Ridge Trail with starting point by the shelter place in Veddinge, where you will pass the most impressive burial mounds in Odsherred.
