Interior
Welcome to our spacious holiday home! Our summer house was renovated in 2017 and 2022 and it is the perfect setting for a cozy and relaxing holiday in a modern holiday home with your family and friends. When you enter the summerhouse, you will be in a bright, open spaced living room. This is the heart and gathering place of our home. In this large living room, there are 3 separate sitting areas. In one area you can sit on the large sectional sofa, relaxing and watching television (in English, Danish, German, Norwegian & Swedish), one of our many DVDs, or play video games on the Wii. In the other areas, you can sit and have a cup of coffee/tea or listen to music (beside our stereo with over a 100 record albums). You can also play cards and board games, or do a puzzle, all of which are in the white cabinet.
There are two dining rooms where you can eat a meal. The first is a large dining room facing the back of the house beside the open concept kitchen. It is very bright with a skylight and surrounded by glass windows and doors to the terrace. In that room, there is a cabinet with many dishes, cups, glasses, etc., as well as a smaller blue chest with tablecloths, napkins, placemats, extra cutlery and dishes.
The other dining room faces the front of the house and here you can have a meal, play a board game, read a book from the bookshelf or just enjoy one another’s company. Our bookshelf has many books in English and Danish, including travel books about Denmark, children’s books, and Danish-English and German-Danish dictionaries.
The kitchen is in the centre of our home, and it is also modern having been renovated in 2017. It has everything you need in terms of facilities. There is a hob, oven, microwave, coffee machine, dishwasher, and fridge with freezer.
The house has 3 good bedrooms. The first one is a ‘master’ bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. There is one double bed suitable for two persons, lots of closet and cupboard space, and a television for watching local television shows. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom attached to it. (The other bathroom is beside the front door, and it has a toilet, sink, shower, and the laundry machine and dryer.)
The second bedroom, which would be suitable for 2 adults has two good sized single beds along with a small closet. The third bedroom is the children’s bedroom. There is a bunk bed for 2 children and a single bed for a larger child or young adult. There is a lot of closet space in this bedroom, which is filled with children’s toys. We also have a baby bath and highchair in this room.
The house has a new heat pump to be used for warming and cooling the air in our holiday home. In the winter, you can also use the electric baseboard heaters in the bedrooms to keep warm.
Exterior
The exterior of the holiday home will be painted black during 2023/2024.
We have a large, partially enclosed garden with a large wooden terrace, which has a lovely, covered part and an open part, where outdoor life can really be enjoyed to the fullest. There is a large table to enjoy meals, as well as a charcoal BBQ and supplies. There are many other chairs and another table to sit at as well. There are also outdoor games to play including croquet, badminton, soccer and water toys for the children. There is a laundry line outside for hanging your clothes to dry. And in the shed you will find kites, more beach toys, a metal detector, Christmas decorations, and 3 adults’ and 1 child’s bicycles, which are you welcome to use during your stay.
The garden is truly an oasis, where there is peace and quiet, as the summer house is located almost at the end of a quiet road. If you step out onto the road, you can see the sea, so it is not far to the beach, only a 1-2 minute walk.
Location
The holiday house in Ajstrup, near Aarhus, makes the holiday house very attractive, because you have everything nearby. Bathing beach, forest, marina in Norsminde and a beautiful hilly nature, as well as the big city that is nearby. Only a 15-minute drive and you are standing in the middle of Denmark´s second largest city, Aarhus. Towards Aarhus you are driving through the beautiful Moesgaard-forests, which in places reach the branches all the way down to the edge of the water. Here you will find the beautiful Moesgaard museum which is worth a visit for many reasons - not least the beautiful and unique architecture.
The area is suitable for both hiking and biking. Nearby is also some of East Jutland´s biggest attractions – e.g. Legoland, Djurs Sommerland, Kattegatcentret and the prison in Horsens.
