Hødal - Living in Nature
House-ID: LN1918Thatched holiday home in wonderful countryside surroundings
The rural idyll is turned all the way up at Hødal, as this beautifully renovated country property near Tornby is called. From the thatched holiday home, you can walk straight out onto the surrounding land, where you can enjoy the peaceful nature or continue onwards to Tornby Dune Plantation and the North Sea. The property also features a fenced field, giving you the opportunity to bring your own horse on holiday and explore the west coast on horseback.
Welcome inside
Hødal’s history goes back many years, and although it now appears as a bright and inviting holiday home with many modern amenities, you can still sense the original rural charm both indoors and outdoors. The three bedrooms offer sleeping space for up to 12 people, so if you wish to invite the whole family or spend your holiday with good friends, it can easily be arranged. The fireplace in the living room and the spa bath in the first-floor bathroom are among the details that make your stay extra comfortable and relaxing, and the dining table in the modern country kitchen is one of the lovely gathering spots where you can truly enjoy each other’s company.
Enjoy life outside
Both people and animals can look forward to spending their days on the holiday home’s scenic grounds. Between the property’s buildings, you will find a green and secluded courtyard environment where you can enjoy your coffee in the sun. There are also other terraces and even a fire pit in the lush garden, while the surrounding fields stretch around the property and far to the west. Up to five dogs are allowed, and your four-legged family members will surely love playing and relaxing in the peaceful surroundings. Your horses can graze on a large, newly fenced field close to the property – and there is also plenty of space for parking trailers and bringing riding equipment, if needed.
Get up close to the local attractions
Very few holiday homes offer as much land and such wonderful natural surroundings as Hødal. The area is rich in birdlife and wildlife, and the legendary Yxenbæk stream, said to have fertility-enhancing properties, originates here and flows onwards into the North Sea. On foot, you can explore Tornby Dune Plantation or head towards the beautiful sandy beach – and you can also follow the newly established hiking route, Skudestien, which passes by Hødal’s dunes. Both the plantation and the wide beach offer some of Denmark’s best riding terrain, and if you enjoy mountain biking, there is a good route nearby.
