If you also enjoy watching a stunning sunset, being close to the water and having shopping opportunities all within 20 km, then this is the place to spend your family vacation.

Welcome inside.

The cottage was renovated in 2019 and is bright and welcoming. In the spacious living room with open kitchen, you can enjoy the magnificent panoramic views of the Isefjord while you enjoy your meal of the day. Sit in front of the wood-burning stove, enjoy a good book or a good chat while the fire crackles, or play a good board game at the dining table. Whatever you choose - you'll be together.

The house also has 3 lovely, bright bedrooms, one of which has a bunk bed for the children, decorated with toys and a children's atmosphere. If you're looking for a little extra pampering, jump into the spa bath with room for two people, and after enjoying the bubbles, it's time for a trip to the attached sauna.

Enjoy life outside.

On the large terrace just outside the living room, summer evenings can be enjoyed while the scent from the barbecue mingles with the changing expression of the fjord - and the view of Holbæk, Orø and Odsherred.

Settle down with a good glass of wine or a cup of coffee while there are plenty of opportunities for activity on the large lawn. In the shed you'll find various play equipment (pole tennis, croquet etc.) and there's a cozy playhouse for the children.

Take a short walk down over the protected areas to the water, where the homeowners' association sets up a jetty in the summer. The shallow water is child-friendly and invites you to surf or take a trip in your own kayak. If it's a couple of hours with a fishing rod that appeals, there are good fishing opportunities, and behind the shed on the property there is a steel table and water where you can prepare your catch for cooking in the oven or on the grill.

Get close to the local experiences

Of course, you'll want to explore all the amazing things Hornsherred and Skjoldungernes Land National Park have to offer: castles, nature areas, museums and the many local eateries with high-quality and varied food. To the north you can visit Selsø Castle, Jægerspris Castle, Willumsen Museum, Færgegården Egnsmuseum. Take a walk in the countryside and experience Jægerspris Nordskov with the three oaks (over 1000 years old). Enjoy the Fjord Trail by bike around the Isefjord - with its more than 275 km winding through varied landscapes connected by the 4 ferries that take you over Orø. The Fjord Trail can also be taken in smaller excursions.

In the immediate area you can visit: Ejby Ådal - Ryegård Forest - Munkholm-Egholm castle and forest.

To the south you can enjoy: The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde - Sagnlandet in Lejre and lovely cycling and hiking routes in Skjoldungernes Land.

If you need a day of shopping - you have Frederikssund, Holbæk and Roskilde within a 20 km radius - all with their attractions, good shopping and great places to eat, Copenhagen can be reached in less than 1 hour by car.

When your vacation is over, you'll already be looking forward to next year's holiday in this lovely house and area.

Recommendations from Holiday home owner

Owner recommendation of holiday home FJ4000

‘What peace of mind one finds in your living room...!’

Yes, that's what we do too!

Being able to see far and freely, see the sky, water and forest, follow the comings and goings of the ferries and the sailboats gliding through the water.

To experience the changing light over the fjord - all year round - in all kinds of weather, and not least the many unique sunsets!

To see the squirrels jumping across the terrace, see the pheasants darting in and out of the bushes and the seagulls pecking at the ground for earthworms,

To see the birds migrating in the sky and the small birds in the garden.

All while we enjoy life on the terrace or the light and warmth of the living room – or take a walk down to the water and skip stones and maybe take a dip from the bathing jetty.

The walk can continue along the fjord to another small cottage area and on to cornfields and burial mounds, down to Vellerup Vig. Or the car can take us for a walk in Ejby Ådal or Ryegård forest a few kilometres away.

Already on the way to our small summer cottage area in the open countryside, we enjoy the hilly, winding Zealand landscape through small villages with old half-timbered houses and glimpses of the fjord. The anticipation grows!

That's why we enjoy coming to our summer cottage.

And we want to share it with others!
