A new 130m² holiday home built in 1980, with ongoing renova­tion work due to be completed by 2025, ta­ste­ful­ly decorated to a high standard using quality materials and featuring all the necessary fa­ci­li­ties. You step into the hall, which provides access to the guest toilet and two of the house’s bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom and lovely views of the fjord. From there, you enter directly into the large family room with kitchen, dining area and living room, offering panoramic views from the entire room of the fjord and the large garden, as well as a further bedroom. From the living room and con­ser­va­tory, there is direct access to the large, beautiful wooden terrace with steps leading down to the garden.

Enjoy life outdoors

Enjoy the large wooden terrace where you can open a bottle of wine, light the barbecue and relax over delicious meals. Here you can enjoy the tranquil­li­ty and the fantastic sunsets. Settle down with a good book, or play a game. The large garden offers plenty of space for play and fun, whilst the terrace has lovely spots for relaxing. Take a walk down to the water – or borrow the house’s electric bike with trailer and pop down to Gershøj harbour, with its eatery and beach. The fjord is ideal for stand-up pad­dle­bo­ar­ding or kayaking due to the shallow water.

Enjoy the sur­ro­un­dings

The holiday home village of Gershøj is situated close to Roskilde Fjord. Here you can enjoy nature, go for a swim in the fjord and spend time with family and friends.

In the area around Gershøj, there are several walking and cycling routes, including the Fjord­lands­ru­ten, which winds its way through the beautiful co­un­trysi­de. Take a dip in the waves at Gærshøj harbour, which is very child-friendly. You can also take the Columbus ferry from Kulhuse to Sølager and explore Arresø, Denmark’s largest lake. There are several cycling and walking routes around the lake. You can set off on an adventure to Hundested, where there’s a wide selection of re­stau­rants and shops, or to Lynæs, which has a charming harbour and is a fantastic spot for ki­te­sur­fers.

Get a taste of the local area by stopping off at the many farm shops and spe­ci­a­list shops found in North Zealand. Several re­stau­rants also focus on local and organic produce. You’ll easily find plenty of de­li­ca­cies to take back to your holiday home.

From Gershøj, you can quickly reach Jægerspris and Jægerspris Castle. In Nord­s­ko­ven near Jægerspris stand Denmark’s three oldest oak trees: Stor­ke­e­gen, Snoegen and Kongeegen. Kongeegen is estimated to be between 1,500 and 2,000 years old, making it the oldest oak tree in Northern Europe. At a holiday home in Gershøj – what to see

The nearest major town is Fre­de­riks­sund, which is about 15–17 km away.

·Orø – take the cable ferry from Hammer Bakker to Orø and enjoy a lovely day on this small island in the Isefjord.

·Som­mer­land Sjælland is situated in north-west Zealand and offers rides for the whole family. You can look forward to splashing about in the Blue Lagoon, a jungle safari in the Amazon and a thrilling ride on the Wild Cat.

·Helsingør and Kronborg – take a day trip to Helsingør and Kronborg Castle. Explore the town’s charming streets, visit the M/S Maritime Museum or take a ferry trip to Hels­ing­borg in Sweden.

·Roskilde – as well as the famous Roskilde Festival, the town is also known for Roskilde Cathedral and the Viking Ship Museum.

·The castles of North Zealand – Zealand has many famous castles. Here you can visit both Fre­dens­borg Palace and Fre­de­riks­borg Castle with its beautiful Baroque garden near Hillerød.

·Co­pen­ha­gen – by train from Fre­de­riks­sund, you can reach Co­pen­ha­gen Central Station in just over 55 minutes. Here, you can all ex­pe­ri­en­ce national treasures such as The Little Mermaid, Ama­li­en­borg, Chri­sti­ans­borg, Chri­sti­ans­havn, the Opera House and Kastellet.
