Get close to local experiences

In the old, charming Kulhuse, there is a harbour and a child-friendly sandy beach, shops and the large Nordskov forest within easy reach, with marked cycling and walking routes - experience the more than 1000-year-old oak trees, listen to and smell the magnificent nature. The fjord is also good for fishing, and the ferry connection takes you across the fjord to Sølager. You can also quickly reach Hundested, which has a brewery, glassworks and craft workshops. In Kulhuse harbour, you can also see the remains of the Englænderskansen defence fortification, built against the English in 1808 to protect the cannon factory in Frederiksværk. The forest also contains the royal hunting lodge from 1857. In Jægerspris, you can explore the old castle and treat yourself to an ice cream from Poulsens Isbod, which has been selling ice cream since 1913. Jægerspris Mill is still in operation, and you can also buy fresh flour there in the summer. A little further away is the nearest town, Frederikssund, where you can shop and eat out. You can also experience the warm city of Roskilde (approx. 35 minutes by car) with its Viking Museum, cathedral and walks along the fjord.

Distance to Copenhagen (Denmark's capital) approx. 55 minutes by car.
