Description
The apartment has a kitchen with a dining area and access to a private yard/terrace, a bedroom with a double bed and a TV, a bedroom with 2 bunk beds and a TV and a bathroom with a shower. The location is perfect to easily get quick to many of the attractions in the area, here among Gråsten Castle with the big park, the lake and the surrounding forest, the Dybbøl Banke with the Danish national symbol “Dybbøl Mill” and the History Centre “1864”, and last but not least the lovely nature of South Jutland with its many hiking and biking trails.
Visit “Den gamle Kro” – an inn serving “smørrebrød” – the traditional Danish open sandwich and a traditional Danish meal, which will definitely feed the hungry ones. You can shop locally or take the train to Sønderborg. If you are driving in your car, the science park “Universe” is worth a visit – plan to spend the entire day there!
The area
Gråsten is a charming old small town only 15 km away from the Danish-German border and is surrounded by beautiful nature with woods, lakes and Flensborg Fjord. In Gråsten there is a nice marina with aqua park and wellness facilities as well as good shopping opportunities. Besides, the town is known for the royal summer residence, Gråsten Castle, where you can visit the park when the Royal Family does not stay at the castle. The area´s two largest towns, Aabenraa and Sønderborg, are not far away from Gråsten either and offer many shopping opportunities as well as many cafés and restaurants. In Southern Jutland there are many attractions and activities, among others Sønderborg Castle. During summer you can visit one of the countless Tilting-at-the-ring festivals which are held in several places and for which Southern Jutland has a longstanding tradition.
