Welcome inside
In ‘Det Gule Palæ’ you'll be greeted by a bright and welcoming atmosphere where the family can gather for cosiness and relaxation. The spacious living room has a wood-burning stove, comfortable sofa, free WiFi and TV with Chromecast, so entertainment is guaranteed for young and old alike. The dining area offers views of nature, while the open-plan kitchen has all the necessary facilities including a dishwasher, stove, oven and a fridge-freezer to keep the younger ones stocked with ice cream. The main house has a double bedroom and a small, bright bathroom with toilet and shower. In the charming annex, you'll find additional space for three people with a double bed and a single bed - perfect for teenage children or overnight guests.
Enjoy life outside
The large terraces around the house are perfect for cosy meals al fresco, and part of the terrace is covered so you can enjoy life outside, whatever the weather. The outdoor shower is a hit after a day at the beach or a hike. The bright, spacious grounds are surrounded by nature where both two-legged and four-legged friends can play and explore. There's peace and quiet to breathe deeply and enjoy the moment - without any distractions.
Get up close to the local attractions
Just 1 kilometre from the house is a beautiful stone beach where you can explore the coastline and perhaps find the old wreck hiding on the beach. At Esby Strand there is a jetty that invites you to take a refreshing dip. Here you can also create your own beach artwork, build cairns or hunt for the special stones with holes. For those who love hiking, Helgenæs offers fantastic nature experiences. Take a trip to Sletterhage Lighthouse, the historic German Tower with its gun emplacement and bunker or climb Ellemandsbjerget, where you will be rewarded with a unique view. Djursland's landscape has also inspired author J.R.R. Tolkien, who created fairytale worlds such as The Lord of the Rings. The myth of the Elven King of Helgenæs is said to have contributed to Tolkien's Elven kings, and the story of Ellemandsbjerg still fascinates. The area is full of sights and experiences.
