Nørrehus - A time capsule from 1840. Small and lovely vacation home
House-ID: AE322Welcome inside
In the middle of the cobbled Nørregade, beautifully framed by hollyhocks and historic charm, lies the little gem Nørrehus. A classic half-timbered house with a fine dormer and an intimate, south-facing courtyard, where time seems to pass a little slower.
As soon as you step inside, you feel the idyll and cosiness – an atmosphere that immediately sends your thoughts back in time. Here, modern disturbances such as TV and the internet have been deliberately avoided, so that peace and presence are allowed to take up space.
The house offers an entrance hall with a steep staircase to the 1st floor and access to a cozy, south-facing kitchen with tiled floors and direct access to the small courtyard. From the kitchen there is access to the living room, where the wood-burning stove brings the room together and creates warm evenings all year round. On the 1st floor there is a small bathroom with a shower, as well as two atmospheric attic rooms - one large with a double bed and a smaller passage room with a single bed. – both with dormers and a view of the town's charming rooftops. The house was built in 1840 and has been carefully maintained and partially renovated over the years, always with respect for the original style and soul.
Enjoy life outside
Diagonally opposite the property, you have direct access to the Molestien and the water – perfect for morning bathing, quiet evening walks or just a moment of contemplation overlooking the sea. The south-facing courtyard creates a private, sunny space where the days and evenings of the holiday can be enjoyed in peace and quiet. Just a few minutes' walk away is the harbour, the marina and the beach at Vesterstrand with the colourful, iconic bathhouses – one of the town's most beloved features.
Get close to local experiences
Just a few hundred meters from the house you will find the town's charming square with a fine selection of small shops, cafes and restaurants. The location makes it easy to take part in the life and atmosphere of the city, while the sea is always within reach – an ideal holiday home for those who want everything within walking distance.
Ærøskøbing – also known as the Fairytale Town – is one of Denmark's best-preserved market towns from the 1700s. In 2002, the city received the prestigious Europa Nostra award for its outstanding preservation of European cultural heritage. The cobblestones, hollyhocks and well-maintained houses with whimsical details create an almost fairytale setting for everyday life.
Here you get not only a house, but a rare opportunity to become part of Ærøskøbing's special atmosphere – conveyed by the local commitment and the love for the island that Feriepartner on Ærø stands for.
