Welcome inside

Close your eyes and think back to those summer vacations where time seemed to stand still, and the only sounds were birdsong and the rustling of wind through the trees. This holiday home brings that very feeling back to life. Here, you'll find everything that embodies the true essence of a Danish summer retreat – charming wood from floor to ceiling, complemented by exposed beams and a skylight that adds a rustic touch while flooding the space with natural light. Through the large windows with terrace doors, the living room opens onto a delightful multi-level terrace, where you’ll easily find your favorite spot to relax. The house features two cozy bedrooms. One boasts a small double bed, perfect for slow mornings, while the other has two single beds that evoke memories of childhood summers, where siblings and friends slept with the windows open, lulled by the gentle sea breeze. For an extra touch, retreat to the charming annex – ideal for summertime stays – complete with a double bed. The bathroom has been newly renovated with care, retaining the nostalgic charm of the house. The new shower corner feels like a small luxury in the midst of the home’s simple and authentic ambiance. This is a holiday home where the past meets the present, where soul and simplicity harmonize. It’s a place to rediscover the tranquility that only a true Danish holiday retreat can offer.

Enjoy life outside

Just 300 meters from the stunning Fjellerup Beach, the holiday feeling begins at the doorstep. Imagine lacing up your running shoes for a refreshing morning jog, followed by a dip in the cool, clear water. Later, the whole family can easily pack up a cooler, beach toys, and towels for a short walk to the beach, where a day of sandy toes, sun-kissed cheeks, and splashing waves awaits. Back at the house, you’ll discover a spacious and bright plot, surrounded by beautiful, tall trees that offer peace and privacy. It feels like a little oasis where the stresses of daily life melt away. Multi-level terraces on different sides of the house invite you to find the perfect spot, whether it’s basking in the morning sun with a steaming cup of coffee or relaxing in the shade during the warm afternoon hours. As evening falls, sink into a chair with the sound of crickets and the gentle crackle of the grill in the background. The orangery is the cherry on top. It’s the perfect refuge on cloudy days or when the evening dew begins to settle. Full of atmosphere and charm, it provides the ideal setting for long conversations over a glass of wine while the scent of nature and summer drifts in.

Get up close to the local attractions

Fjellerup Beach is beautifully situated on the northern tip of Djursland. This idyllic old fishing village is a highly sought-after holiday destination with miles of beaches and endless sea views. The beach is especially family-friendly, boasting a Blue Flag designation, shallow waters, and mostly sandy bottoms. Fjellerup is also home to Denmark’s best ice cream shop, famed for its enormous cones. With a local grocery store and bakery, you’ll hardly need a car to get around. The surrounding nature is both stunning and varied, with a network of hiking trails and smaller roads perfect for jogging, walking, and cycling. In spring, you’ll be greeted by golden rapeseed fields and the vibrant green of newly sprouted beech trees. Along the coastline, there are excellent fishing opportunities. Nearby, visit attractions like Mejlgaard Castle, the stone dolmens at Tustrup, and Gl. Estrup Castle. Only a 15-minute drive away, you’ll find Scandinavia’s largest amusement park, Djurs Sommerland, and about 30 minutes away lies Grenå, a bustling market town where you can shop, dine, or visit penguins, seals, and sharks at the Kattegatcenter Aquarium. If you have more time, the rest of Djursland is brimming with adventures, all within an hour’s drive from the house.
