Welcome inside

It’s holiday time – real holiday time – from the very moment you enter this red wooden holiday home with views of the dunes and the sea just behind them. The house is tucked into the very front row of the dunes, so close to the beach you can practically feel the sand between your toes. This is an authentic beach retreat where you won’t need to pack a beach bag – just grab a towel and take a few steps down the sandy path.

Inside, you’ll feel it immediately. This isn’t your average holiday home – it’s a warm and personal hideaway, full of atmosphere and stories in the walls. The classic-paned windows let in golden strips of light, and even on quiet mornings, you can hear the waves and breathe in the fresh sea air all the way into the living room.

Downstairs, you’ll find two bedrooms – one with a double bed for the grown-ups, and a cosy bunk room for the kids, where giggles and whispered bedtime stories last long after sunset. The bathroom is neat and practical, and the entrance hall offers plenty of space for sunscreen, rubber boots and sandy feet.

Upstairs is where the holiday moments truly unfold. The welcoming kitchen connects beautifully to the living room, filled with the scent of coffee and salty air. The door to the terrace stays open most of the day – not just because the view and nature invite you out, but because they flow right in and become part of the space. From here, you see the dunes, hear the skylark sing, and feel that the entire house is in tune with the world outside. It’s simply lovely.

Enjoy life outside

There’s something magical about this place. Maybe it’s the light. Maybe it’s the sound of the sea that never really fades. Or maybe it’s just the way the house sits – nestled right by the dunes, in the middle of a beachy landscape, and yet hidden in its own peaceful world.

The east-facing terrace is perfect for morning sunshine and birdsong. From here, a little path winds straight over the dunes and down to the beach, where seashells glisten in the sand and the sea calls for bare feet. Here, nothing feels rushed. Time stretches out in soft, sun-warmed moments.

On the other side of the house, a private west-facing terrace is made for golden evenings and sunset reflections. The gentle scent of barbecue drifts in from the small grill courtyard, and this is where you’ll sit long into the evening, simply enjoying life. Around the house, there are more cosy sheltered corners, benches and little view spots – perfect for a peaceful pause or a game with the kids.

The owner remembers it all from childhood – the quiet peace, the endless song of the skylark, and the salty scent of the sea that clung to summer clothes long after the holiday was over. Now, it’s your turn to continue the story – and give your children a taste of how a real holiday home holiday feels. Free, unhurried, and filled with small miracles just outside the door.

Get up close to the local attractions

Once you've soaked up the sun on your face, the wind in your hair, and the scent of the sea, you might feel ready for a little variety – and the area around Grenaa has plenty to offer.

Just 500 metres from the house, you’ll find the marina and the popular Kattegat Centre – a fascinating world of sea life where sharks, seals and penguins glide past in ways that delight both kids and grown-ups.

If you're in the mood to explore further, local paths and routes lead you straight into the scenic East Jutland landscape. Hop on a bike, lace up your hiking boots, or grab a fishing rod – with Molsruten, Kløverruterne and the Djursland Route winding through nature and along the coast, you're never far from your next little adventure.

Right outside your door lies Grenaa Beach, one of Djursland’s very best. With its Blue Flag status, soft sand, and calm, child-friendly waters, it’s made for lazy beach days and carefree play.

Nature lovers should head to Fornæs Lighthouse, just a short trip away. This wild and windswept spot offers endless sea views and a powerful sense of nature’s grandeur. A little further north, the dramatic white cliffs of Sangstrup Klint rise from the coast. Here, you can discover fossils, enjoy sweeping views, and hear birdsong echo from the rocks and scrub.

Craving a bit of town life? Grenaa’s charming town centre is only a short bike ride away, offering a lovely pedestrian street with small shops and cosy eateries – just right for an ice cream in the sun or a relaxed bit of shopping.

Djursland is full of big and small adventures – whether you're seeking peace, action, culture, nature or good food. Here, the holiday is right outside your door – and every day brings the chance for something new.
