North-eastern Funen

There is no denying that North-eastern Funen is known for its wonderful beaches with fine sand and shallow areas where you can safely let the youngest ones play at the water’s edge under su­per­vi­sion. It is also in these parts that you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the natural area of Fyns Hoved, located on the most northern tip of Hindsholm. From this point, you can enjoy the views of the Kattegat and the Great Belt. The area also features hi­sto­ri­cal traces from the past including ancient burial mounds and stone struc­tu­res. From North-eastern Funen, you have easy access to the largest city on Funen, Odense, where you can visit Hans Christian Andersen’s childhood home and explore his fairytale world.

Fyns Hoved

When ho­li­daying in a summer cottage at Fyns Hoved, you will be close to the specta­cu­lar nature of Funen. Hasmark

On Northern Funen, you will find the summer land area of Hasmark. Hasmark is a par­ti­cu­lar­ly popular holiday area due to its close proximity to Hasmark Strand, known as one of the best beaches on Funen. In Hasmark, it will not take you long to get a feel for the special holiday at­mosp­he­re. Here you are away from the hectic feel, stress and rush of urban life. Hop on your bicycle and explore the area where you will find fields, small woodlands and pleasant nearby villages, each with their own history. From Hasmark, you can also head to Ene­bærod­de peninsula featuring beautiful nature and fa­sci­nat­ing bird life.

Hindsholm

North of Ker­te­min­de, you have the Hindsholm peninsula with its coast­li­nes spora­di­cal­ly changing between sandy beaches and cliff ledges. From here, you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the most beautiful landscape with its rolling hills, luxuriant forests and pleasant small villages. On Hindsholm, you will, among other things, find Viby, one of the best preserved villages in Denmark. You will quickly fall for the charm of the small village with its well-main­tai­ned half-timbered houses lining the winding roads. Here you can delve into the local town history. Hindsholm also offers mag­ni­fi­cent nature ex­pe­ri­en­ces with the op­portu­ni­ty for hiking and bird watching.

Ker­te­min­de

Ker­te­min­de is a charming port town on Funen. Here you will find several wonderful beaches, idyllic scenery and a lovely town centre. In Ker­te­min­de, you can enjoy lots of great taste sen­sa­tions. Among other things, this is the place of the gourmet re­stau­rant Rudolf Mathies and in the summer, it is actually also to these parts that many people from Funen flock to get the best ice cream cone. Ker­te­min­de is also home to various at­tra­ctions for both children and adults. Visit the Johannes Larsen Museum and let yourself be ent­hral­led by beautiful works of art from Funen, or head to the Fjord & Bælt-centret to learn more about the wonderful world of the sea.

Nyborg

On Eastern Funen, you will find the old, charming market town of Nyborg. Nyborg oozes ancient history with its im­pres­si­ve medieval castle, Nyborg Castle, which was establis­hed back in the 13th century. The castle adorns the townscape and is the backdrop for several social events taking place in the town, espe­ci­al­ly in the summer. Here you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the Medieval Festival and a wide range of musicals and theatre per­for­man­ces, among other things. Near the town centre, you will find Nyborg Strand, a popular beach with fine sand and clear water. The beach is a true at­tra­ction for the locals and ho­li­day­ma­kers alike.

Tørresø

In the beautiful landscape of Northern Funen, you have the summer land area of Tørresø where you can enjoy life on the finest sandy beach stret­ching along the coast. You can also ex­pe­ri­en­ce the natural green sur­ro­un­dings with rolling hillsca­pes, open fields and small woodlands. Explore the area, watch the birds and ex­pe­ri­en­ce the amazing flora that changes from season to season. Just outside of Tørresø, you will find Otterup featuring a range of shops and eateries. And in the summer, you can even enjoy the weekly markets where you can buy local produce and de­li­ca­cies.
