Helnæs is a genuine little gem in the South Funen Ar­chipela­go. The peninsula is connected to the mainland via a natural dam and it is close to both the port town of Assens and the market town of Faaborg. When driving across the dam to the small peninsula, you will feel embraced by the out­stan­ding nature. This is where you will find Bro­bak­ker­ne, a large em­bank­ment formed back in the Ice Age and in summer, it is covered with the finest summer flowers. You can also ex­pe­ri­en­ce the specta­cu­lar nature from the water. Jump in a kayak and explore the Little Belt.

A little inland, sur­ro­un­ded by tall trees and lush forest areas, you will find the quaint town of Houstrup. Espe­ci­al­ly in the moor- and woodlands, you may be lucky to see a deer, a hare or ex­pe­ri­en­ce the rich bird life that is on show here. So go hiking or jump on a bicycle to explore these special natural sur­ro­un­dings. Napstjert is located between Skagen and Fre­de­riks­havn. So you are within re­la­ti­ve­ly short distance of the well-known and pi­c­tu­resque sur­ro­un­dings of Skagen and the maritime history of Fre­de­riks­havn in the streets and alleys in the town.
