Sejerø is a 12 km long island in Kattegat. The island is known as Kattegat’s sunshine island – and for good reason. Sejerø is one of the sunniest places in Denmark. The nature of the island is diverse and offers eve­ryt­hing from beautiful sandy beaches and wide-open spaces to rolling hills and fields. Sejerø is espe­ci­al­ly known for its many burial mounds that date back to the Bronze Age. A total of 30 burial mounds have been di­scove­red on the island, and you can ex­pe­ri­en­ce them via several footpaths that take you around the landscape.

North of Fre­de­riks­havn, you will find the holiday resort of Bratten. Here you will be close to green sur­ro­un­dings and wonderful beaches. You will be better off exploring the area on a bicycle or on foot to find the many hidden trails leading to idyllic natural resorts. Get up close and personal with nature, listen to the buzzing of insects and explore the beautiful flora. Near Bratten, you will find the port town of Strandby where you can see the charming harbour en­viron­ment unfold right in front of you. And with Fre­de­riks­havn just 10 km away, you also have great shopping op­portu­ni­ties, in­te­r­e­sting cultural at­tra­ctions and cosy eateries right at your fin­ger­tips.
