Marstal

Marstal is the largest town on Ærø with a proud maritime history which is why the town is also known as “Skipper Town” colloquially. This sense of pride particularly manifests itself in the local town life. The harbour is a well-known gathering place for townspeople and holidaymakers, and the maritime museum is one of the major attractions in the area. Here you can delve into the maritime history of the town and enjoy exhibitions on the shipping trade. The town centre features a lovely shopping street and here you can shop to your heart’s content and sample local delicacies. And a mere stone’s throw from Marstal, you will find Eriks Hale Strand overlooking some of the colourful beach huts on the island.
Nordjylland_Kattegat_Mariager Fjord

Mariager Fjord

Colloquially, Mariager Fjord is known as the most beautiful fjord in Denmark and maybe not without reason. Here you can let yourself be fascinated by the glassy water, the luxuriant forests and open countryside. You can experience the fjord from the water by hiring a kayak or going on a guided sail. And if you are into hiking, you can find various green trails to explore. Mariager is known as the “Town of Roses” as it is adorned with a wide range of roses planted in the streets and alleys in the town. In and around Mariager, you will find a number of museums and cultural-historical attractions, all of which bear witness to the history of the area.
Østjylland_Odderkysten_Mariendal Strand

Mariendal Strand

South of Aarhus you will find the holiday home area, Mariendal Strand. Near the area is the beach, which is surrounded by natural surroundings and has a cosy fire pit. Here you can enjoy views of Aarhus Bay while roasting marshmallows over an open fire with your feet planted in the fine sand. If you like biking, you can cycle towards Aarhus to the forests of Moesgaard and Marselisborg, which stretch all the way down to the coast. And when visiting this area, you might want to visit the Moesgaard Museum, which has several exhibitions of archaeological finds, including the Grauballe Man, who - probably - is the world’s most well-preserved bog body.
