A stone’s throw from Denmark’s sout­her­n­most point sits Gedesby, which offers authentic village vibes and idyllic scenery. In and around the town you will find beautiful old houses, thatched farm­hou­ses and cosy green landsca­pes. The church, which dates back to the 1300s, is nestled in the centre of the town sur­ro­un­ded by the quaint main street and beautiful old mill. The area plays an important role in Denmark’s history so there is a lot of local folklore and tales to explore. The nature here is fantastic, with plan­ta­tions, hiking trails and forests – and not least Gedesby Beach, which stretches as far as the eye can see.

Bring the family to Northern Als and ex­pe­ri­en­ce a holiday in scenic sur­ro­un­dings with hills, valleys and crystal-clear lakes created and shaped by the Ice Age. Plenty of child-friendly beaches await with the softest sand, perfect for play and re­laxa­tion. Nordborg, Northern Als’ largest city, offers a multitude of great ex­pe­ri­en­ces with its delicious re­stau­rants and cosy shops waiting to be explored. In Kø­bings­mark you can rent bikes and easily get around, and don’t miss out on the creative workshop, “Candles in the Barn”, where the whole family can try their hand at making their own candles.

Tårup Strand is a summer land area on the eastern coast of Funen, sur­ro­un­ded by a hillscape and over­look­ing the clear water of the Great Belt. Here you can take walks along the coast, enjoy the views and the fresh sea air and – if you are lucky – spot ships om their journey through the Great Belt. You will see that the beach in the area changes character the further up the coast you go. The first part of the beach consists of a stone bed and it has a bathing jetty while 1 km further up the coast, you are met by a fine sandy beach offering the op­portu­ni­ty to play in the water and sunbathe. Take a long swim in the blue sea or laze in the sun all day long. The choice is yours.
