Rudkøbing, the largest town on Langeland, is a charming market town with beautiful old houses, cobbled streets and a wa­ter­front con­stant­ly bustling with life. When strolling through the streets and alleys of the town, you get the ex­pe­ri­en­ce of going back in time. But please do not get fooled. Behind the many well-preserved town houses, you will find local shops, re­stau­rants and cafés. When venturing outside the town centre, you will discover that Rudkøbing also has a beautiful nature on offer. Located on the southern tip of Langeland, the pleasant holiday village of Bagenkop is home to one of the best beaches on the island where you can soak up the sun and swim in the clear water. Pre­vious­ly, Bagenkop was a busy ferry town and you can still get that feeling when you take a walk along the harbour that overlooks the small well-preserved fishermen cottages. From the quay, you can enjoy the sight of the colourful fishing boats and meet the local fishermen hauling in the catch of the day. You can also put on your hiking boots and ex­pe­ri­en­ce the wild horses grazing at Dovns Klint; and if you are lucky, you might spot a porpoise or two in the green sur­ro­un­dings.

Melby offers pi­c­tu­resque landsca­pes that are perfect to explore on foot or by bike. Also make sure to visit Melby Overdrev, which with its open heaths, purple heather fields and in­cre­dib­le expanses offers lots of ad­ven­tu­res and hours of fun. Liseleje Beach is also just a stone’s throw away, and this part of the beach is won­der­ful­ly peaceful. Here you can spend hours swimming in the quiet waters, playing games on the beach, reading good books and enjoying beautiful sunsets. You can also head into the town of Liseleje, where you will find cosy eateries, ice cream stalls, shops and so much more.
