Nykøbing Sjælland is known for its wealth of shopping options with lots of locally produced spe­ci­al­ties and cosy cafés that make the city ideal for an excursion while on holiday. For the ad­ven­tu­rous, a boat trip with the boat “Marianne F” is a must, and otherwise there is ample op­portu­ni­ty to rent bikes and explore the sur­ro­un­dings. Følle Strand is a charming holiday area on Djursland near Kalø Vig. Here you can enjoy life on the south-facing sandy beach with its shallow waters. From the beach, you can also enjoy the view of Mols and its mag­ni­fi­cent nature. In Følle Strand you are close to several hi­sto­ri­cal sights. Just 15 minutes by car, is the medieval castle ruin, Kalø Slotsruin, a 700-year-old fortress. Here you can follow the cobbled paths and enjoy nature and the hi­sto­ri­cal sur­ro­un­dings.
