On the northern coast of the Kattegat is Hald Beach. Here you can easily spend hours swimming, playing games on the beach, reading a good book, enjoying the perfect view, and so on. The area is also ideal for exploring on foot or by bike, and you will find many lovely trails and routes around the terrain. The towering coastline gives the landscape a par­ti­cu­lar­ly dramatic feel and offers one bre­ath­taking view after another. Close to Hald Beach are several cosy harbour towns with plenty of at­mosp­he­re, shops and urban life. The area also offers art, culture, local spe­ci­a­li­ties and so much more.

Col­loqui­al­ly, Mariager Fjord is known as the most beautiful fjord in Denmark and maybe not without reason. Here you can let yourself be fa­sci­na­ted by the glassy water, the luxuriant forests and open co­un­trysi­de. You can ex­pe­ri­en­ce the fjord from the water by hiring a kayak or going on a guided sail. And if you are into hiking, you can find various green trails to explore. Mariager is known as the “Town of Roses” as it is adorned with a wide range of roses planted in the streets and alleys in the town. In and around Mariager, you will find a number of museums and cultural-hi­sto­ri­cal at­tra­ctions, all of which bear witness to the history of the area.

Lønstrup is a cosy fishing village where time appears to stop when you let yourself become ent­hral­led by the charming summer villas from the 1920s, popping up here and there the hills around the town. The town oozes cosy at­mosp­he­re and holiday spirit with narrow, long and winding streets showca­sing one great and well-preserved fisherman’s cottage after the other. Today, the fishermen’s cottages house cafés, re­stau­rants and various art workshops where you can enjoy the local artists’ works of art – and yes, maybe you can buy a local souvenir to take home? A stone’s throw from the town, you will find Lønstrup Strand, known for its clear water and beautiful dune landsca­pes.
